Marketing & Ecommerce Assistant
Job Description

About James Gin
James Gin is the world's most-followed gin brand. We're available in more than 40 countries and have won multiple awards because our gin tastes really good, which is ultimately the point.
Unlike some celebrity brands, James Gin is actually James May’s gin, not just some generic liquid that he’s slapped his name on for marketing purposes. Like the rest of us, James is bored to death of reading about “botanical narratives”, “journeys in gin”, “crafted with passion”, and all the other marketing guff that craft gin brands seem determined to foist upon people. Sales suggest many people feel similarly.
We’re a small business, with huge ambitions. Which means we’re now looking for a Marketing Assistant to help keep the marketing side of things running smoothly. If you're looking for a nice steady job in an office this isn't for you. But if you're willing to take on virtually anything, learn on the job and take the initiative, it just might be.
The Role
This is a fully remote, entry-level role - ideal for someone organised, curious, and ready to get stuck into the day-to-day of marketing at a growing brand. You’ll work closely with our Head of Marketing, gaining hands-on experience across ecommerce, email marketing, content coordination, partnerships, and more.
No two days look the same. You might be uploading a new cocktail recipe to our Shopify site in the morning, building an email campaign in Klaviyo after lunch, and organising assets for an upcoming shoot by the end of the day.
We’re not looking for someone who’s done it all before - we’re looking for someone who wants to learn, takes pride in getting the details right, and isn’t afraid to ask questions or take ownership of their work. Naive enthusiasm beats industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Upload, maintain, merchandise, and QA website content in Shopify, including blogs, cocktail recipes, landing pages, and SEO optimisation
- Build, schedule, maintain, and QA email campaigns, customer flows, and lists within Klaviyo
- Monitor customer reviews, competitor activity, and escalated customer queries, liaising with third-party logistics and customer service partners where required
- Support the day-to-day running of the affiliate programme including onboarding, tracking, reporting, and partner management
- Organise, maintain, and manage marketing assets within Box across website, CRM, and partner channels
- Support campaign execution, event and shoot logistics, product gifting, and wider marketing administration across the business
- Attend events and support ecommerce photoshoots and content creation where applicable
About You
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Confidence working independently in a remote setup
- Solid skills in Excel or Google Sheets
- Clear, proactive communication
- Genuine interest in ecommerce, digital marketing, the communications or drinks industries.
Nice to have (but not essential):
- Familiarity with Shopify
- Experience using Klaviyo
- Exposure to affiliate platforms such as Awin
