We are seeking an advanced, hands-on Google Ads & Shopify Performance Specialist to take ownership of paid acquisition for a UK-based e-commerce brand selling high-value physical products (£1,000+ AOV).
This role is suited to a senior operator who understands how Google Ads, GA4, Google Merchant Center, and Shopify interact in real production environments — including legacy setups, imperfect tracking, and accounts that require correction before scaling.
The engagement is structured with an initial fixed-fee audit and stabilisation phase, followed by results-linked ongoing management once tracking integrity and attribution are validated.
This is not a junior role, not a training engagement, and not a “set-and-forget” account.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and optimise Google Ads performance across Search, Shopping, and Performance Max
- Structure campaigns and budgets to support profitability and sustainable ROAS, not cosmetic improvements
- Diagnose and resolve conversion tracking and attribution issues across Google Ads, GA4, and Shopify
- Validate conversion ownership, values, and event consistency via the Google & YouTube Shopify app
- Manage and optimise Google Merchant Center feeds, disapprovals, and compliance
- Make informed decisions on bidding strategies, audience signals, and scaling thresholds
- Apply automation selectively and intervene manually when data quality or performance demands it
- Proactively identify risks, errors, or performance threats before they impact results
- Communicate actions, findings, and outcomes clearly and directly
Required Experience & Skills
- Advanced, proven experience managing Google Ads for e-commerce
- Demonstrated success marketing high-value products (£1,000+ AOV)
- Strong working knowledge of Shopify checkout and conversion flows
- Advanced understanding of GA4 attribution and conversion ownership
- Hands-on experience diagnosing and fixing broken or inconsistent tracking
- Experience managing £10,000+ monthly ad budgets with full ownership
- Confidence working with inherited or imperfect accounts and correcting prior agency work
- Data-led judgement grounded in evidence, not templates or platform defaults
