Director, Social Creative
- Location: Remote (travel to West Coast ~3 days/month)
- Comp: $160,000–$200,000 base (DOE) + bonus + comprehensive benefits

We’re looking for a Director, Social Creative to lead social-first storytelling for a founder-led, early-stage consumer brand. This is a hands-on, video-first creative role focused on turning big ideas into repeatable, high-impact social content that feels culturally relevant, simple on the surface, and smart underneath.

- Editorial or lifestyle content writing
- A traditional brand or marketing director role
- A large-team, process-heavy environment
What You’ll Do
- Translate founder ideas and brand strategy into a repeatable social storytelling system
- Own social creative direction across short-form video, supporting stills, carousels, and emerging formats
- Concept, shape, and direct video-first content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and similar platforms
- Build and evolve a visual playbook (formats, tone, aesthetic, pacing) the team can run with
- Work hands-on with internal creators (videographer, social associate) and freelance contractors
- Use AI tools for ideation, moodboarding, scripting, and rapid iteration
- Test new formats quickly, identify what’s working, and scale winning concepts
- Ensure content stays culturally sharp and avoids traditional DTC or influencer tropes
- Balance speed and taste — shipping often without sacrificing quality
What We’re Looking For
- 6–10+ years of experience in social-first creative, content, or production
- A strong portfolio of short-form, social-native video
- Proven ability to turn loose ideas into clear, repeatable formats or series
- Excellent visual taste and storytelling instincts; understands pattern interrupts
- Comfortable being hands-on — concepting, directing, and shaping content personally
- Experience guiding or managing a small creative team
- Familiarity with AI-enabled creative workflows
- Thrives in a lean, fast-moving, early-stage environment
- Clear understanding of what you personally owned vs. delegated in past roles
