SEO content & localization project manager | Outdoor sports | Freelance, remote

The Action Sports Translator is a specialized localization and copywriting agency working exclusively with outdoor and action sports brands.

We are currently looking for a freelance SEO content & localization project manager to join our fully remote, sports-loving team. You’ll become part of a fast-moving group of content and localization PMs delivering high-impact projects for some of the world’s leading action and outdoor sports brands.

In this role, you’ll mainly collaborate closely with our translation PMs and localization teams to coordinate AI-assisted multilingual SEO content creation & localization workflows, ensure consistent quality across languages and support the smooth execution of SEO-driven content projects from brief to delivery.

📍 Fully remotewithin CET/GMT/EEST

📆 Approx. 20h / week (or 80h / month)**After the initial 4–6 week trial period, we’d be happy to increase your hours, as we’re seeking a stable, long-term collaborationStart date: as soon as possible

Main responsibilities

Manage the lifecycle of AI-assisted SEO content writing and localization projects, from briefing to publication, ensuring timely delivery and quality of copy, including:

• Prompt engineering and generating first-drafts with AI, based on an SEO brief and brand requirements.

• Managing and leading a team of content writers and editors, providing guidance, feedback and support to ensure on-brand, SEO-compliant content production.

• Owning and coordinating multilingual SEO content projects that involve content writers, editors, SEO specialists and work closely with translation PMs, making sure all the steps are aligned with the clients’ requirements and our internal SOPs.

• Collaborating with marketing, design and product teams on the client side to ensure content consistency and brand alignment throughout the project.

• Preparing relevant working files, which may include: 
• > All reference materials about the brands and the projects themselves
• > SEO guidelines and instructions for the team
• > Search Intent, Angle and Desired Outcome
• > Meta description and alt texts for images
• > Core links to be used in all languages in scope
• > Collecting client’s feedback and integrate it into project deliverables. 
• > Building workflows from scratch or update existing ones to fit client requirements or reach higher efficiency.

What we’re looking for

• English as your first language

• Deep understanding of content and localization workflows and processes.

• Proven experience managing teams of writers and editors on the agency side

• Strong knowledge of on-page SEO best practices (including how titles, meta descriptions, headings and internal links affect rankings).

• Deep understanding of content creation and optimization, keyword research.

• An interest in AI technologies, as well as experience in prompting AI tools to generate content so that the results – once edited by our team – meet project and client requirements.

• Attention to detail, strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and complex processes

• Ability to work independently and own projects end-to-end, as well as working well in a team and keeping brand requirements in mind.

• First-hand experience and passion for outdoor sports.

Nice to have

• Background as a copywriter/editor

• Experience as a translation project manager or in a translation agency
