About the Job
The Media Relations Manager will be responsible for pitching and securing media placements for our clients in technology and venture capital across digital media, print media, TV, podcasts, op-eds, and influencer newsletters. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the media landscape, traditional and new, and a proven track record of success securing tech media coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the Founder and Media Relations Director to execute client comms strategies;
- Pitch stories to journalists and editors;
- Secure media placements for clients in top-tier publications, podcasts, events, TV, etc., across tech and finance sectors;
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists and editors;
- Monitor media coverage of clients and provide feedback;
- Support content creation, especially across blogs and short-form social media (LinkedIn, X);
- Support research on the media landscape and sector-driven deepdives
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in communications, with a focus on media relations;
- Experience in comms for tech companies, startups, and/or venture capital firms;
- Excellent writing and desire to craft stories;
- Proven track record of success in securing media coverage for clients;
- Strong understanding of the media landscape;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a growing remote team;
- Endlessly curious; sector-agnostic in attitude toward work
- “No task is too small” attitude;
- Ability to throw out the rulebook and start fresh with new strategies
