Shopify can’t make commerce simple alone. Our entrepreneurs and enterprise brands need an ecosystem of world class partners to help them migrate to and grow on the Shopify platform. We are hiring a Lead, Partner Development Manager to join the commercial partnerships craft. As part of the Shopify Revenue team, this role extends our GTM reach, builds strategic commercial plans with partners, and drives revenue activities through partners. This role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of partners from Australia / New Zealand.
- Work across a book of Partners to help grow their business and increase Shopify’s share of wallet.
- Build effective GTM engines with these partners for specific merchant segments.
- Enable these partners on Shopify’s platform capabilities.
- Generate net new merchants referrals from partners and contribute to GMV growth from partner referred merchants.
- Co-create effective Joint Business Plans with partners to ensure net new merchant growth and revenue goals are met.
- Work with partners to design and launch their Shopify-centered services
- Establish strong and sustained relationships with partners to build and execute co-marketing plans.
Using a combination of strong commercial acumen, a deep understanding of the ANZ landscape, as well as a good understanding of the Shopify platform and partner ecosystem, you will be the trusted advisor for our partners and help them to achieve commercial success with Shopify. YOU'LL NEED:
- This is a senior role within the team hence we require at least 6-8 years experience overall, with at least 4-5 years experience in partnerships or channel-sales oriented roles. Prior experience as a Sales Account Executive is a bonus.
- Proven ability to drive commercial collaboration with partners and archive revenue growth through building and executing mutually beneficial business plans.
- Experience in creating and monitoring merchant acquisition strategies that can be scaled across multiple partners and partner types.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with, negotiating and persuading a portfolio of commercial partners, to drive desired outcomes.
- Experience in working with stakeholders from multiple internal teams including Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance from global to region.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills while being able to stay focused on the big picture and pay attention to detail.
- Understanding of ecommerce best practices, industry trends, tech vendors, integrations, systems architecture etc.
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills to manage multiple Partners and projects, with the ability to revisit and reprioritise periodically to deliver expected outcomes.

- Experience working in large partner-first SaaS organisations, across multiple GTM functions, including Sales, Success and Marketing, apart from Partnerships
