Position Title: Social Lead, InstagramThe Community You Will Join

This role will help define Airbnb’s Instagram presence, shaping a feed that feels considered, culturally fluent, and distinctly Airbnb.

Airbnb is looking for someone who combines creative instinct, editorial judgment, and platform expertise to build something innovative and enduring. This person should be excited by setting the tone, raising the bar, and defining what great looks like while moving at the speed of culture.

The Difference You Will Make

Airbnb is looking for someone who understands Instagram at a deep, instinctive level: how it works, how to win on the platform, and what makes content travel.

You think like an editor. You have a vision, can articulate taste, and understand what is worth saying, how to say it, and when. You understand pacing, sequencing, and how individual posts ladder up into a broader narrative.

You have likely played a meaningful role in shaping and growing an account, with a strong perspective on format, visual language, and storytelling. You understand the nuances of Reels, Carousels, and Stories, and how each can be used to build a cohesive, evolving point of view for Airbnb.

A Typical Day

  • Air traffic control content across social media to ensure everything works coherently together.
  • Ideate, conceptualize, and create Instagram-native content for Airbnb’s owned channel across Reels, Carousels, and Stories.
  • Partner closely with internal teams and external creators to develop original content designed specifically for Instagram.
  • Maintain a deep, constantly evolving understanding of Instagram trends, formats, algorithm dynamics, and audience behavior.
  • Develop original, repeatable content frameworks that move beyond trend participation and build a coherent brand narrative.
  • Own accurate, timely publishing and real-time community engagement on Instagram.
  • Partner with analytics teams to measure impact, extract insights, and continuously refine strategy and creative output.

Your Expertise

  • Managed or significantly grown an Instagram account for a brand, creator, or yourself.
  • Strong editorial point of view and clear sense of taste across content, design, and storytelling.
  • Understanding of how content performs on Instagram, with the ability to articulate why and influence how the brand shows up on the platform.
  • Ability to move from idea to execution, including concepting, articulating, and publishing social-native content.
  • Ability to think in ideas and community, not just posts, and shape how content connects with audiences over time.
  • Community development and management skills that feel ownable and distinctive for the brand.
  • Ability to spot cultural moments early and translate them into relevant, on-brand storytelling.
  • Drive to create work that feels sharper, more distinctive, and more culturally resonant.
  • Comfort working in fast-moving environments and making decisions with imperfect information.

Location

This position is US Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with the manager.

While the position is Remote Eligible, candidates must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. If the position is employed by another Airbnb entity, the recruiter will confirm eligible states.

Compensation

Pay Range: $160,000–$200,000 USD

The actual base pay is dependent upon factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
