Growth Engineer (Freelance / Part-time)
Job Description
Posted on: October 24, 2025
We’re looking for someone who loves bridging the gap between marketing creativity and technical execution.
You’ll be the go-to person to unblock our marketing team, helping them turn ideas into scalable, data-driven campaigns that actually ship.
Your first mission: lead our migration from Mailchimp to Klaviyo, and set up multichannel customer journeys across email, WhatsApp, and our app (Odisei Play). From there, you’ll help us build the foundation for smarter, automated growth across our tools and data ecosystem.
You’ll work closely with our marketing team and our in-house Automation & Data Systems Engineer to connect systems, clean up tracking, and bring clarity on how our campaigns and efforts translate into sales.
Tasks
1. Growth Experimentation & E-Commerce Ops
You’ll be the marketing team’s technical backbone, helping launch experiments fast while owning the performance and flexibility of our ecommerce stack.
- Help prototype and test new ideas quickly: landing pages, A/B tests, or funnel experiments.
- Prototype and ship growth experiments that drive conversion and retention
- Own the tech side of our ecommerce setup (WooCommerce now, Shopify soon)
- Make small store updates or work with our contractor on bigger improvements
- Ensure our site is fast, trackable, and ready for marketing at all times
- Bring sharp, creative ideas to boost performance across the funnel
2. Marketing Systems & Automation
You'll own the core tools and automations that bring our customer communications to life across all channels (social, email, WhatsApp, in-app touchpoints...).
- Oversee the migration from Mailchimp to Klaviyo, ensuring data integrity and proper segmentation.
- Define, build, and optimize automated customer journeys across email, WhatsApp, and in-app notifications.
- Set up dynamic flows for onboarding, re-engagement, upsell, and post-purchase experiences.
- Help unify customer data across tools for smarter targeting and personalization.
- Bring fresh, practical ideas for improving reach, conversion, and retention through automation or creative use of data.
3. Analytics & Data Integration
You’ll help make sense of our marketing-related data: connecting tools and surfacing the right signals to understand how we’re doing and where to improve.
- Collaborate with our Data Engineer to connect marketing, sales, and app data.
- Define clear metrics and dashboards to measure marketing performance and ROI.
- Ensure tracking consistency across Shopify, Klaviyo, PostHog, and ad platforms.
- Debug, validate, and optimize GTM, ad pixels, and conversion events.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- 4+ years experience in technical marketing, growth engineering, or marketing automation
- Hands-on experience and proven results with marketing automation tools like Klaviyo (flows, segmentation, API integration)
- Strong understanding of tracking and attribution (GTM, GA4, Meta/LinkedIn pixels, UTM logic)
- Experience setting up and integrating marketing and ecommerce tools (Shopify, Klaviyo, GTM, CRM, analytics, etc.)
- Comfortable writing small scripts or building UI prototypes (preferably in JavaScript)
- Understanding of email deliverability, multichannel marketing, and funnel logic
- Familiarity with B2C/B2B ecommerce and SaaS funnels (bonus if you’ve worked with both!)
- Scripting and automation experience a plus (JS, Python, or tools like n8n/Zapier/Make)
- Creative, curious, and comfortable experimenting with new tools or workflows
Mindset & Qualities
- Growth hacker mindset: You think outside the box and use smart, sometimes unconventional strategies to reach the right audience.
- Impact-obsessed: You want everyone in the world to know they can play sax silently; or learn it from scratch in 30 minutes!
- Systems thinker: You see how data, tools, and marketing flows connect.
- Pragmatic builder: You prefer something done and useful today over perfect in theory.
- Cross-functional collaborator: You speak both “marketing” and “tech.”
- Curious and proactive: You bring ideas to the table, not just tasks to deliver.
- Data-driven: You love tracking real impact: what works, what doesn’t, and why.
- Music-aware: You don’t need to be a musician, but you understand the magic of music and want to help others experience it too. 🎷
Benefits
- Freelance or part-time (2–3 days/week to start)
- Competitive compensation
- Can be in-person/hybrid in Barcelona or remote in Europe
- Flexible working culture
- Direct impact on the future of music education technology
- Collaborative and innovation-driven environment
At Odisei Music, we’re building the future of wind instruments, making it easier, smarter, and more fun to learn and play.
You’ll be joining a multidisciplinary team of musicians, engineers, and designers who care deeply about quality and innovation.
This is a freelance role with potential to grow into a longer-term collaboration if we’re a great fit.
You’ll work directly with the CTO and marketing team, and have a clear impact on how we reach and engage musicians worldwide.
