Associate Product Marketing Manager
Job Description
Posted on: March 12, 2026
There are millions of e-commerce businesses around the world, and the industry is growing each year, yet achieving profitability has never been harder. Costs are rising, it’s trickier to acquire customers, and it's critical to run with lean teams. As a result, the vast majority of brands guess about things like how to price their products, what discounts to offer, whether to charge for shipping, and what content they should show on the site, leaving 6–10% of potential profit on the table. Intelligems is a profit growth platform that helps these entrepreneurs succeed by uncovering that profit. Our platform provides e-commerce merchants with a wide range of A/B testing and personalization tools to help them understand their data, run experiments, and price dynamically. We’re taking technology that has previously been available only to the Amazons and Ubers of the world, and making it available to e-commerce stores of any size. We have excellent traction: we’re working with over 2,000 brands and have access to more than $10B of transaction and shopping session data. As we enter scaling mode, we are looking for highly talented individuals to join us and help us continue to scale efficiently. We have an extremely high-performing team, with a collaborative culture of low-ego + high-IQ people. Our people are our strongest asset, and we hold a very high bar. We're backed by Stage 2 Ventures, Vinyl Capital, Matchstick Ventures, Techstars, and the founders of companies like Klaviyo and Postscript, and have raised >$11M to date. Role Overview We're seeking an Associate Product Marketing Manager to ensure excellence in how our product marketing work is executed, distributed, and adopted across our organization. You'll be responsible for the operational rigor that ensures every launch, every piece of content, and every enablement initiative is complete, polished, and actually used by the teams that need it. This role is designed for someone early in their career who wants to build strong product marketing fundamentals while making immediate impact. You'll partner closely with our Lead Product Marketing Manager to support external marketing, customer-facing team enablement, and launch execution - ensuring everything meets a high quality bar. The ideal candidate has exposure to Shopify and e-commerce, strong attention to detail, and a track record of execution excellence. You're comfortable creating screen recordings, maintaining documentation, following up persistently to ensure adoption, and taking pride in making other teams successful through your work. What You'll Own Product Marketing Execution & Distribution
- Execute and distribute product marketing materials across all customer-facing teams (Support, Success, Sales, and Marketing)
- Ensure materials are delivered through appropriate channels and are easy to find and use
- Follow up with teams to confirm understanding and actual usage of product marketing outputs
- Drive accountability - actively ensure product marketing work lands and gets adopted by the teams that need it
Messaging & Competitive Awareness
- Support the development and maintenance of product messaging, positioning statements, and proof points
- Maintain awareness of the competitive Shopify app landscape - understand how Intelligems is positioned relative to alternatives and help ensure that framing is reflected in customer-facing materials
- Track how customers and prospects talk about their problems, and surface language and insights that sharpen our messaging over time
Content Creation & Quality
- Own a checklist-driven approach to product launches and updates
- Create and maintain high-quality supporting materials including:
- Internal one-pagers and summaries
- Help center documentation and FAQs
- Troubleshooting guides
- Enablement decks and training materials (Google Slides, built with Claude or another AI tool)
- Comparison tables and release notes
- Raise the production quality and professionalism of all product marketing content
- Ensure consistency in messaging, terminology, and visual presentation
Screen Recordings & Visual Content
- Create and maintain high-quality screen recordings and product walkthroughs using tools like Loom, Screen Studio, Tella, Arcade etc.
- Maintain consistency in tone, structure, and visual presentation across all video content
- Build a library of reusable visual assets that can be leveraged across teams using AI
Launch Operations & Coordination
- Support product launches by tracking deliverables, timelines, and dependencies (Notion, Linear etc.)
- Coordinate with Core Product and Product Growth teams to ensure materials accurately reflect feature changes
- Ensure all customer-facing teams are launch-ready and proactively flag any gaps or blockers
- Support beta and early-access programs through documentation and internal communication
- Own post-launch follow-up to confirm materials are being used and are effective
Customer-Facing Teams Enablement Support
- Partner with Support, Success, Sales, and Marketing to ensure teams have accurate, current product information
- Prepare materials and logistics for training sessions led by the Lead Product Marketing Manager
- Reinforce consistent product language and terminology across all customer-facing teams
- Act as a point of contact for teams needing product marketing materials or clarification
Adoption & Feedback Loop
- Track common questions, confusion points, and adoption friction from customer-facing teams - using tools like Pylon, call recordings (Granola, Attentive, Gong, etc.), and customer surveys
- Surface insights to the Lead Product Marketing Manager, Core Product, and Product Growth teams
- Document how features are being used in practice based on real customer interactions
- Help identify gaps in enablement materials or areas where clarity is needed
What You'll Bring Required Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in product marketing, e-commerce operations, brand marketing, content marking, growth marketing, or a related role
- Genuine understanding of how Shopify brands operate — You don't just have exposure, you understand how a merchant actually thinks, makes decisions, and runs their store day-to-day. This can come from an internship, early career role, side project, or personal experience.
- Actively uses AI tools in your work (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) - You incorporate AI into your day-to-day workflows for writing, research, and documentation. You're comfortable experimenting with new tools and improving how you work through them.
- Strong written communication skills - You can write clear, professional content with excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to execute deliverables independently - Track record of shipping quality work without constant supervision
- Experience creating or editing visual content - Screen recordings, presentations, documentation, or light video editing
- Comfortable driving follow-through - You're persistent, organized, and ensure things actually get done
What Makes You Successful Here
- Execution-focused: You're a doer who takes pride in shipping high-quality work on time
- Detail-oriented: You catch inconsistencies, incomplete materials, and quality issues before anyone else does and fix them immediately, putting new stop-gaps in place
- Organized and systematic: You naturally use checklists, templates, and frameworks to stay on top of work
- Proactive communicator: You don't wait to be asked, you identify what's needed and make it happen
- Team enabler: You care about making other teams successful and get satisfaction from seeing your work get used
- Quality-conscious: You want materials to not just be functional, but polished and professional
- Curious and eager to learn: You're excited to grow your product marketing skills and expand your scope over time
- Collaborative: You work well with cross-functional partners and can navigate competing priorities
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with experimentation, A/B testing, CRO, or analytics
- Experience maintaining documentation, help centers, or knowledge bases (Gitbook, Notion etc.)
- Background in e-commerce, customer success, sales enablement, technical writing, or content marketing
- Understanding of SaaS business models and product launches
What Success Looks Like Operational Excellence
- Product marketing materials are complete, accurate, easy to find, and consistently used across teams
- All product marketing outputs meet a high bar for clarity, professionalism, and visual quality
- Screen recordings and walkthroughs are polished, clear, and reusable across multiple contexts
Team Adoption
- Support, Success, Sales, and Marketing teams consistently rely on product marketing content
- Teams proactively use enablement materials rather than asking the same questions repeatedly
- Internal training and enablement sessions run smoothly because all materials are prepared in advance
Scalability
- Product marketing processes are documented and repeatable
- The team can ship frequent product updates without sacrificing quality or completeness
- New team members can quickly get up to speed using existing materials and documentation
A Note on Candidates We're Open To Non-traditional Backgrounds If you've worked at a Shopify store in any capacity (even part-time or as a side hustle), have strong writing skills, and are obsessed with execution excellence, we want to hear from you. You'll learn product marketing from experienced leaders while making immediate impact through operational rigor. Bonus points if you've spent 2-3 years as a Growth or E-commerce Manager at a DTC brand and understand experimentation/testing deeply. You can learn product marketing execution, but e-commerce domain expertise and understanding of how merchants think is much harder to teach. Intelligems is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds. What’s Offered
- Competitive salary and equity packages
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401k + match
- Flexible PTO policy

- $ to spend quarterly with our growing list of brands
- WFH setup stipend
- Laptop provided
