Head of Acquisition
Location: Malta (Hybrid) or Germany (Remote or Hyrbid)
A well-established, publicly listed betting operator is looking to appoint a Head of Acquisition to lead customer acquisition across two established online betting brands. The Role
Reporting directly into senior leadership, you will be responsible for developing and executing the customer acquisition strategy across sportsbook and horse racing products. You'll take ownership of paid acquisition channels, affiliate marketing and digital growth initiatives, ensuring customer acquisition is both scalable and commercially efficient.
This is a hands-on leadership role, managing a small but experienced team consisting of an Affiliate Manager and an SEM Manager, while working closely with Product, CRM, Brand and Commercial teams to optimise acquisition performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the acquisition strategy across sportsbook and horse racing.
- Own customer acquisition performance, including CPA, ROI, LTV and overall marketing efficiency.
- Lead and develop a team of two marketing specialists.
- Manage affiliate partnerships and paid search activity.
- Identify new acquisition channels and growth opportunities.
- Work closely with Product and CRM teams to improve conversion, customer journeys and retention.
- Analyse campaign performance and optimise budgets based on data-driven insights.
- Ensure all acquisition activity complies with relevant regulatory requirements.
About You
We're looking for an experienced digital acquisition professional who understands the regulated betting industry and has a genuine passion for performance marketing.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience leading acquisition or performance marketing within an online sportsbook operator.
- Strong understanding of affiliate marketing, paid search and digital acquisition channels.
- A commercial mindset with experience managing marketing budgets and acquisition KPIs.
- Previous leadership or people management experience.
- Excellent analytical skills with a data-led approach to decision making.
- Fluent English is essential.German language skills would be advantageous.
- Experience within horse racing betting would be highly desirable, although strong sportsbook acquisition experience will also be considered.
