About BarBooks
BarBooks is a modern practice management platform built specifically for barristers’ chambers.
We work closely with chambers to support their financial and operational workflows, providing software that reflects how clerking actually works. Our platform is used by thousands of users across Australia, the UK and South East Asia, and we are rapidly expanding our presence in the UK market.
We are now looking for a UK-based team member with Chambers experience who wants to combine that knowledge with technology, product development and client delivery.
The Opportunity
This is a varied, client-facing role with a strong product focus.
Your primary responsibility will be supporting UK chambers as they adopt and use BarBooks, helping onboard new users, configuring the platform to reflect real workflows, and providing high-quality ongoing support.
Alongside this, you will play an important role in improving the product itself. You’ll work closely with customers to understand how chambers operate, identify friction points, and translate that insight into clear, structured feedback for our product and engineering teams.
The scope of the role is intentionally broad and will grow over time. You will be trusted to step into different situations as needed, with increasing responsibility as you develop confidence and experience within the business.
This role suits someone who is ambitious, capable, and looking to build a long-term career at the intersection of chambers and technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead onboarding for new UK chambers and users
- Configure BarBooks to reflect chambers’ billing and operational workflows
- Provide clear, professional support to existing customers
- Build strong working relationships with clerks and chambers staff
- Conduct structured conversations to understand operational needs
- Translate customer feedback into actionable product insight
- Work closely with product and engineering to improve the platform for UK users
- Contribute to the stability and retention of UK chamber accounts
About You
You will likely have experience working within chambers, for example as a barrister’s clerk or in a similar operational role.
You are:
- Organised, structured and detail-oriented
- Comfortable learning and working with software
- Confident communicating with professional stakeholders
- Calm, reliable and trusted by clients
- Curious about how systems and processes can be improved
- Motivated to take on responsibility and grow over time
You do not need prior experience in a tech company, but you do need a genuine interest in software and a willingness to learn.
