Athens, Greece - The academic and business communities are mourning the loss of Przemyslaw Jeziorski, a 43-year-old economist and professor of marketing at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, who was tragically shot dead on July 4 in a residential suburb of Athens. The incident occurred while Jeziorski was visiting to see his children and attend a family custody hearing.
The Incident
According to police, Jeziorski was shot multiple times at close range by a masked gunman in the suburb of Agia Paraskevi. The attack, which took place near the home of Jeziorski’s ex-wife, has sparked a murder investigation with all scenarios, including links to organized crime, being examined.
A Legacy of Excellence
Jeziorski was a highly acclaimed economist who created a popular MBA marketing analytics course at UC Berkeley. Over his 13 years at the institution, he taught data analytics skills to more than 1,500 graduate and PhD students. His research on subsistence-level entrepreneurs and financial inclusion took him around the world, earning him recognition as a leading expert in quantitative marketing and the economics of digital markets.

Jeziorski’s family is raising funds to repatriate his remains to his native Poland and to support ongoing investigations. His brother, Łukasz Jeziorski, expressed the family’s heartbreak and their determination to seek justice.
