About The Role We are seeking an experienced SEO Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead and execute comprehensive organic search strategies across multiple client accounts as well as Blacksmith’s own digital assets. Your primary responsibility will be to drive traffic growth, enhance search engine rankings, and convert performance data into actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with developers, designers, and strategists to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into all stages of website development and content creation. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of SEO techniques, tools, and industry trends, with a proven track record of delivering measurable results. Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably within an agency environment managing multiple clients
- Proven success in delivering measurable growth through SEO initiatives supported by concrete data
- Strong proficiency with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console, including report setup and data interpretation
- Experience managing SEO for various industries, with direct implementation of metadata, schema markup, redirects, and internal linking strategies
- Expertise in conducting keyword research and aligning SEO strategies with business goals such as traffic and lead generation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with developers to resolve technical issues, improve site speed, and ensure proper indexing
- Excellent project management skills, capable of handling multiple client projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex SEO insights into clear, actionable recommendations for clients and internal teams
Responsibilities
- Own and lead end-to-end SEO strategies for multiple clients, encompassing technical, on-page, and off-page efforts
- Perform comprehensive SEO audits, competitive analyses, and keyword opportunity mapping
- Collaborate with designers and developers during website strategy and build phases to ensure SEO best practices are incorporated
- Create structured content strategies and provide recommendations to support UX and conversion goals
- Manage local SEO initiatives for clients with physical locations, optimizing for local search visibility
- Monitor and analyze search rankings, crawl health, Core Web Vitals, and conversion metrics using tools like Ahrefs, GA4, and Search Console
- Present SEO findings, insights, and strategic recommendations to clients in a clear and non-technical manner
- Conduct technical SEO audits utilizing tools such as Screaming Frog and SEMrush, and communicate prioritized action steps
- Implement on-page SEO updates within CMS platforms, primarily WordPress, including meta tags, headers, alt text, internal links, and schema markup
- Perform keyword research to identify primary and secondary targets for core pages, blog content, and marketing campaigns
- Develop SEO briefs and content outlines to guide internal teams and writers on structure, keyword integration, and topic coverage
- Review and optimize draft content to ensure SEO best practices are met before publication
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure website technical health, including crawlability, redirects, and URL structure before launch
- Configure and set up SEO tools for new websites, including Google Search Console and GA4
- Generate detailed monthly SEO performance reports, highlighting wins, identifying issues, and recommending next steps
- Research backlink opportunities through competitor analysis, brand mentions, and digital PR efforts, supporting outreach and execution
- Stay updated on Google algorithm updates and industry trends, adjusting strategies accordingly
- Participate in client meetings to discuss SEO performance and strategies, translating technical details into understandable insights
- Identify technical or content gaps and collaborate with project teams to resolve issues promptly
