Role Description

The Social Media Team Lead – Volunteer Role is a part-time (3-5 hours per week) remote position, ideally you are located in either the UK, mainland Europe or East Coast North America. This role is unpaid. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing a diverse international social media team, developing content strategies, and ensuring engaging and impactful communication across all platforms. Tasks include:

• Lead and supervise social media volunteers.
• Maintain and update the content calendar.
• Assign tasks and ensure deadlines are met.
• Oversee posting schedules across all platforms.
• Provide weekly activity and engagement reports the Chair.
• Ensure brand consistency.
• Support brainstorming for campaigns and digital storytelling.
• Oversee community engagement and inbox responses.
• Drive engagement to create impactful campaigns with diverse audiences.
• Train and onboard new media volunteers.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

• Collaborative and value-lead mindset.
• Structured & organised.
• Management experience.
• Experience with content creation for Social Media platforms is a bonus.
• Strong Communication skills to ensure clarity, cohesion, and engagement in messaging.
• Commitment to social causes and familiarity with non-profit environments is a plus.
