About the Opportunity:

The Senior Communications and Engagement Lead is responsible for leading member communications, storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge sharing. This role focuses on connecting, informing, and engaging a growing national network of election leaders while communicating the impact of the organization's work. The position plays a central role in facilitating peer learning, strengthening network engagement, and translating complex information into clear communications for various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as primary communications contact for members and stakeholders
• Develop and maintain regular member communications such as newsletters and updates
• Build trusted relationships with election officials and key stakeholders
• Identify member needs and areas for peer learning
• Maintain confidentiality while surfacing insights to inform organizational priorities
• Support member-facing events and engagement initiatives
• Create compelling written content including newsletters, reports, case studies, and briefs
• Translate complex information into practical communications
• Capture member stories that highlight leadership in election administration
• Curate best practices and operational insights into useful resources
• Manage content strategy for member portals and distribution channels
• Support rapid-response communications during sensitive moments
• Collaborate with leadership to communicate organizational priorities and impact
• Facilitate peer learning groups and community-building activities
• Work cross-functionally to support programming and content development

Qualifications:

• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
• Ability to translate complex operational and policy information into clear communications
• Experience in communications, associations, nonprofits, philanthropy, public affairs, government, civic engagement, or related mission-driven fields valued
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
