A late‑stage biopharmaceutical organization preparing for U.S. commercialization is seeking a Senior Director, U.S. Portfolio Marketing to establish and lead portfolio‑level marketing strategy across current and future assets. This role will play a critical part in shaping launch excellence, customer engagement, and long‑term brand growth within a rapidly evolving commercial organization.
The position reports into senior Commercial leadership and will help define how portfolio marketing capabilities are built and scaled.
Role Summary
The Senior Director, U.S. Portfolio Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing a cohesive portfolio marketing strategy that aligns customer insights, brand planning, and launch execution across multiple assets. This individual will build and lead a high‑performing marketing team and serve as a strategic partner to Commercial and cross‑functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Strategy Leadership: Build and lead portfolio marketing strategy across late‑stage and future pipeline assets, ensuring alignment across healthcare provider, patient, and payer audiences
- Customer‑Centric Planning: Develop customer strategies across the treatment journey, including segmentation, insights, and activation plans that support brand and portfolio objectives
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a portfolio marketing team, fostering a culture of performance, curiosity, accountability, and collaboration
- Strategic Commercial Contribution: Partner with Commercial leadership to shape short‑ and long‑term strategies that drive launch excellence and sustained market leadership
- Cross‑Functional Leadership: Represent the voice of the customer across commercial and development stages; collaborate closely with Sales, Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, Legal, and Compliance teams
- Insight Generation: Lead market research and insight development to inform positioning, messaging, branding, and customer engagement strategies
- Launch Planning & Execution: Drive brand readiness and customer engagement strategies for initial product launch and establish scalable frameworks for future launches
- Brand Evolution: Shape and evolve the organization’s brand identity, values, and visual expression to inspire internal and external stakeholders
- Agency & Vendor Management: Oversee external agencies and marketing vendors, ensuring high‑quality execution and return on investment
- Budget Management: Own and manage the portfolio marketing budget, optimizing allocation across programs and priorities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, or similar) preferred
- 10+ years of commercial experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or agency environments, including at least 5 years in marketing leadership roles
- Proven track record of successful launch planning and execution in specialty or complex therapeutic areas
- Minimum of 3 years of experience building and leading high‑performing marketing teams
- Deep experience leveraging market insights, customer segmentation, and analytics to drive effective brand strategies
- Experience leading matrixed initiatives with Medical, Market Access, Legal, Compliance, and Sales partners
- Strong strategic, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable direction
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across all organizational levels
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment

The base salary range for this role starts at $240,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on various factors, including but not limited to depth of experience, skill set, overall performance, and education. Base salary is just one component of a competitive total compensation and rewards package.
