Job Description

Paper is reimagining student support by partnering with K-12 districts to extend the reach of every educator. From 24/7 tutoring, writing feedback, math practice, career and college readiness, and AI solutions, we give students the personalized support they need to succeed. With GROW high-impact tutoring, we deliver targeted small-group instruction that accelerates learning, supports multilingual students, and eases teachers’ workloads. Trusted by 500+ districts across 40 states, and backed by investors IVP, Sapphire Ventures, Framework Capital, Reach Capital, and more, Paper is on a mission to help every learner thrive with scalable, data-driven solutions that drive real results. Job Description This is a new chapter for marketing at Paper and a big opportunity to build and make a lasting impact. We’re looking for a strategic, action-oriented Director of Marketing to lead revenue generation for our fastest-growing offerings: GROW high-impact tutoring and AI solutions. You’ll own the strategy and execution to drive pipeline, unlock new revenue, and support renewals. The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist and doer, thrives in fast-paced environments (think Series A startup), and enjoys partnering closely with Sales to do great work together. This role reports to the Chief Revenue Officer and can be located in any geography in the US or Canada. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the end-to-end marketing strategy for GROW high-impact tutoring and AI solutions to increase awareness, engagement, and conversion
  • Lead execution of high-impact campaigns across events, regional dinners, sponsorships, press, thought leadership, and paid media
  • Partner with SDRs and AEs to improve lead quality and outbound performance; manage email content and sequences in SaleLoft
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to build repeatable, scalable campaign playbooks
  • Ensure marketing tools (HubSpot, Canva, SalesLoft, etc.) are supporting needs
  • Manage one direct report (Senior Product Marketing Manager)
  • Own marketing funnel reporting in partnership with Sales

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of marketing experience, including 5 years in B2B EdTech marketing and/or enterprise marketing
  • Deep understanding of the K-12 landscape and district decision-making process
  • Strategic thinker with a bias for action (comfortable leading, building, and doing)
  • Strong verbal and written communicator able to influence cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to execute campaigns that deliver measurable pipeline and revenue impact
  • Experience in fast-paced startup environments and comfort with ambiguity
  • Attention to detail is critical for this role – please take the time to respond to the application questions when submitting your application

The annual salary range for this position is $170,000-$190,000 USD or $136,000-162,000 CAD, plus equity. Please note that the final offer amount is determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience, and may vary from the amounts listed above. What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, benefits, equity, retirement plan, and more
  • Monthly stipend to support the growth of your home office
  • As part of a remote and distributed company, the flexibility to work from where you thrive
  • Unlimited access to tutoring and educational support for children of Paper employees

You’ll be joining a team of mission-driven builders who care deeply about equity in education, and who thrive in a culture of ownership, velocity, and continuous learning. If you’re energized by challenges, inspired by impact, and ready to help lead a high-growth business through its next phase, we’d love to meet you. We believe diverse teams build better products and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. Paper does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender orientation, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, marital status, or military status.
