Role Description
We’re looking for a highly strategic and creative Social Media Manager to take full ownership of our organic social media presence across TikTok and Instagram.
This role is responsible for planning, creating, and executing our entire social media strategy — from daily content and trend participation to community engagement and organic growth.
We are looking for someone who deeply understands how beauty brands grow online and knows how to consistently keep an audience engaged, excited, and talking about the brand.
What You'll Own
You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our organic social media presence.
This includes:
Social Strategy & Growth
• Develop and manage the overall social media strategy
• Plan and maintain a full monthly social content calendar
• Identify opportunities to grow our audience and reach organically
• Continuously test new content formats and optimize based on performance
• Track performance metrics and refine strategy based on insights
Daily Content & Posting
• Ensure our brand is posting consistently across TikTok and Instagram
• Repurpose existing content into new formats to maximize reach
• Edit and format content for social platforms when needed
• Plan and schedule posts to maintain daily activity and momentum
Campaign & Launch Content
• Coordinate social media content around product launches, sales, and campaigns
• Plan supporting content for holidays, seasonal moments, and relevant cultural events
• Stay ahead of key moments such as Women’s Day, Fragrance Day, Mental Health Awareness campaigns, and other culturally relevant dates
Trend Monitoring & Cultural Relevance
• Stay up to date with TikTok and Instagram trends, sounds, and formats
• Translate relevant trends into content ideas that align with the brand
• Identify opportunities to participate in cultural moments and trending conversations
Community Building
• Actively engage with our audience in comments, DMs, and story interactions
• Foster a strong sense of community among Orena customers online
• Encourage conversation, engagement, and user participation
• Help make Orena’s social platforms feel like an active, engaged community
Social Activations
• Plan and execute social media giveaways and engagement initiatives
• Develop interactive content formats such as polls, questions, and story features
• Create opportunities that encourage customers to share and talk about the brand
Graphic & Content Ideation
• Conceptualize ideas for social graphics and content series
• Write captions and hooks that drive engagement
• Brief internal or external designers on graphic content needs
Content Coordination
• Organize and repurpose UGC and influencer content for social channels
• Work closely with the marketing team to align social content with campaigns and launches
Creative Strategy & Content Ideation
A major part of this role is creative ideation. You will be responsible for continuously developing new ideas for content that educate, entertain, and engage our audience while strengthening the sense of community around the brand.
This includes:
• Developing original content ideas for social media graphics, videos, and posts
• Creating engaging educational content about fragrance, scent layering, and our products
• Conceptualizing interactive content that encourages audience participation and conversation
• Brainstorming new recurring content series that keep our audience excited and engaged
• Identifying opportunities for viral or trend-driven content
• Translating brand messaging into creative social media formats
• Collaborating with our design and marketing team to bring content ideas to life
The ideal candidate is extremely creative, deeply understands social media culture, and is constantly thinking about new ways to make the brand interesting, engaging, and talked about online.
Requirements
• 3+ years managing social media for a DTC brand (beauty or fragrance industry preferred)
• Strong experience with beauty, fragrance, or lifestyle brands
• Deep understanding of TikTok and Instagram algorithms and trends
• Proven ability to grow social media accounts organically
• Experience managing content calendars and planning campaigns
• Strong creative instincts and understanding of viral content formats
• Excellent copywriting skills for captions and hooks
• Strong organizational and communication skills
Compensation
This is a contract position paid on a monthly retainer.
Compensation amount: $5,000 to $6,500/month
Expected time commitment: approximately 35–40 hours per week.
Compensation will be determined based on experience and past results.
