The role

ORB is looking for a freelance Marketing Content Manager to help drive the next phase of our growth. This is a hands-on role for someone who can create, schedule and optimise content across social media and email, while also using data and reporting to evaluate performance, improve ROI and support a test-and-learn approach to marketing investment.

Reporting to the Marketing Director, this role is ideal for somebody who is strong in B2B content marketing, highly organised, commercially minded, and confident working independently, and highly capable in using HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional and Content Hub to plan, execute and report on multi-channel campaigns.

Core responsibilitiesContent planning and management

·       Develop and manage a rolling content calendar aligned to business priorities, launches, campaigns and target audiences

·       Translate commercial and product priorities into clear content themes, campaigns and messaging

·       Maintain consistency of tone of voice, messaging and brand positioning

·       Repurpose existing materials into effective multi-channel content where appropriate

Social media

·       Create, write, schedule and manage organic social content, primarily for LinkedIn, with flexibility to support other channels where relevant

·       Develop a balanced mix of thought leadership, product and value-led content, proof points, case studies, event content and brand awareness content for social media and digital PR

·       Create simple visual assets for social and campaign activity using Canva or similar tools

·       Plan and execute LinkedIn sponsored content and lead generation campaigns using targeted audience profiles

·       Identify high-performing organic posts that should be boosted or repurposed

Email marketing and HubSpot

·       Plan, write, build and manage email campaigns for key customer segments

·       Use HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional and Content Hub to support campaign planning, content management, segmentation, scheduling and reporting

·       Maintain clean data across customer segments, lists, tagging and campaign tracking

Reporting, analysis and optimisation

·       Track and report on marketing performance on a regular basis, including social media, email, organic website traffic and wider paid campaign performance

·       Produce clear monthly reporting for board meetings, highlighting activity, performance, ROI, insights and recommendations

·       Support a test-and-learn approach to campaign planning and ongoing marketing investment

Content support

·       Support website and blog updates where needed

·       Create simple product or training videos using Synthesia or similar tools where needed

Deliverables we would expectIn the first 4-6 weeks

·       Content plan and channel recommendations

·       6-8 week content calendar

·       Agreed tone of voice, messaging framework and approach to visual assets

·       Proposal for HubSpot planning, content management, scheduling and reporting

·       Recommended reporting framework, agreed KPIs and a test-and-learn approach

On an ongoing monthly basis

·       Weekly social content creation and scheduling

·       Regular email planning, build and deployment

·       Blog, case study and article drafting as needed

·       Simple product or training video creation where required

·       Monthly performance report with insights and recommendations

·       Proactive ideas for campaigns, content themes and lead generation activity

Ideal profile

·       Proven experience in freelance or in-house B2B content marketing

·       Strong hands-on experience with HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional and Content Hub

·       Strong experience in LinkedIn organic content and LinkedIn paid campaigns

·       Comfortable using data and reporting to evaluate performance and improve ROI

·       Experience creating simple visual assets for social media, ideally using Canva or similar tools

·       Experience creating simple videos using Synthesia or similar tools would be helpful

·       Able to work across both strategy and execution

·       Comfortable in a scale-up or fast-moving business with changing priorities

·       Experience in healthcare, health-tech, SaaS or other professional services would be helpful

·       Strong judgement on audience, tone and message clarity

·       Strong project management and self-direction

·       Confidence working with Canva or similar tools

Ways of working

·       Remote, with regular check-ins and some UK travel required

·       Close collaboration with the leadership team

·       Able to take a brief, shape it into a plan, and run with it

·       Comfortable working with external freelancers such as designers, photographers or web partners
