We’re seeking an Email/SMS Marketing Manager to oversee and execute customer communication across four ecommerce specific brands. This role requires a balance of creative thinking, execution, and analytical insight. You’ll be responsible for developing, scheduling, and optimizing campaigns, building automated flows, and ensuring each brand’s unique voice is effectively represented.
Key ResponsibilitiesCampaign Management
- Email: Plan, design, and send 2 email campaigns per week per brand (8 total campaigns per week across 4 brands) depending on the brand’s needs and holiday/promotional calendar.
- SMS: Plan, design, and send 1–2 SMS per week per brand, depending on the brand’s needs and holiday/promotional calendar.
- Collaborate with brand managers or creative teams to gather assets and approvals.
- Write subject lines, preview text, and body copy tailored to each brand’s voice and audience.
- Segment audiences for better targeting and personalization.
- A/B test subject lines, creative, and send times to improve engagement rates.
Flow Creation & Optimization
- Build from-scratch automated flows (welcome series, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase, win-back, and loyalty) for at least 2 of the 4 brands initially.
- Audit and optimize existing flows for all brands to improve deliverability, conversion, and retention metrics.
- Maintain a regular flow optimization schedule to adapt to performance trends.
Strategy & Reporting
- Develop monthly campaign calendars in alignment with brand promotions and seasonal opportunities.
- Analyze and report weekly on open rates, click-through rates, revenue attribution, unsubscribe rates, and SMS engagement.
- Suggest strategies for list growth, engagement recovery, and churn prevention.
Compliance & Best Practices
- Maintain compliance with CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and GDPR regulations.
- Ensure SMS sends respect to opt-in/opt-out protocols and timing restrictions.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices for deliverability and engagement.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years experience in email and SMS marketing, preferably with eCommerce brands.
- Proficiency with platforms such as Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, or similar. Asana is a PLUS
- Strong copywriting skills and ability to adapt tone per brand.
- Design skills in Canva, Figma, or Adobe Suite for creatives.
- Data-driven mindset with ability to interpret analytics and apply learnings.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple brands simultaneously.
Hours & Time CommitmentEstimated Weekly Hours
- Email & SMS campaign creation & scheduling: ~10–14 hrs/week (prep, copywriting, design coordination, segmentation, scheduling for ~8 email and 4–8 SMS campaigns).
- Flow creation & optimization: ~6–8 hrs/week (higher during the first 8–12 weeks while initial flows are built for 2 brands, plus ongoing optimization for all brands).
- Reporting & analytics: ~2–3 hrs/week (weekly performance breakdown for email, SMS, and flows).
- Strategy & planning meetings: ~1–2 hrs/week.
Total Weekly Estimate: 20–25 hrs/week approx.
Performance Expectations
- Consistently meet campaign deadlines without errors.
- Achieve open and click-through rates in line with (or above) industry benchmarks.
- Improve revenue attribution from email/SMS for each brand.
- Grow subscriber lists while minimizing churn.
- Keep brand voice and compliance standards intact across all communications.
