Our client, a digital experience consultancy, is looking for a freelance Email Marketing Specialist to lead the strategy and migration of a B2B ecommerce email program. The client is moving from Constant Contact to Klaviyo and needs someone who can guide the transition, evaluate the current state of the email ecosystem, and build a stronger long-term strategy around segmentation, automation, and campaign planning.
This is a part-time contract role for someone who has owned email strategy for ecommerce brands and is confident navigating both high-level planning and hands-on execution.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the strategy for a B2B ecommerce email program, including nurture flows, triggered campaigns, and promotional sends
- Manage the migration from Constant Contact to Klaviyo
- Review existing list structures, segments, and current configurations in Constant Contact to determine what should transition
- Set up and configure Klaviyo, including integrations, segmentation, automations, and analytics
- Build advanced segmentation strategies using behavioral, lifecycle, and firmographic data
- Create automated workflows based on customer behavior and engagement
- Provide guidance on campaign structure, timing, and content strategy
- Analyze email performance and share insights and recommendations
- Work directly with the client to understand goals and provide strategic direction
- Collaborate with internal implementation and technical teams on setup and data flow
What You Bring
- 5 to 7 plus years of email marketing experience for ecommerce brands
- Strong Klaviyo expertise across setup, integration, automation, and segmentation
- Experience migrating email programs between platforms
- Ability to assess existing email ecosystems and advise on improvements
- Hands-on experience with lifecycle and nurture campaigns
- Solid understanding of segmentation models and personalization frameworks
- Background in email analytics, testing, reporting, and optimization
- Understanding of email deliverability and compliance
- Ability to communicate clearly with clients and guide strategy
- Experience in B2B ecommerce is preferred
- Comfortable working independently in a part-time, flexible schedule environment
Project Details
- Start: Next few weeks (post-Thanksgiving)
- Hours: 5–10 per week. Expect about 10 hrs upfront during the migration.
- Duration: 4–6 months
- Schedule: Flexible, with responsiveness on Slack within 24 hours
- Location: Remote, must work CST hours
