About The Role

We’re hiring a Founding Partnerships Lead who will build MAVI’s partnerships motion from scratch, in addition to driving strategic business development initiatives, and exploring new business lines. The Partnerships Lead will unlock powerful and scalable customer acquisition channels to meaningfully accelerate MAVI’s growth.

This person should be highly strategic, a powerful networker & relationship builder, have immense hustle, and raw commercial instinct. What You’ll Do

  • Build MAVI’s partnerships motion from the ground up, identifying, prioritizing, and activating strategic partners (including institutional investors, CFO networks and fintech product partners) that can become scalable customer acquisition channels.
  • Source, structure, and close high-impact partnerships across technology, ecosystem, referral, and distribution partners that accelerate MAVI’s growth.
  • Develop the end-to-end partnerships playbook, including partner identification, outreach, deal structuring, onboarding, and long-term relationship management.
  • Run structured experiments across partnership models, incentives, and co-marketing strategies to determine the most scalable and efficient growth channels.
  • Own the partnerships pipeline, from initial outreach and relationship building to negotiation, closing, and partner activation.
  • Work closely with other teams at MAVI to ensure partnerships are successfully launched, integrated, and delivering measurable value.
  • Identify and explore new business development opportunities, including new partnership categories, distribution channels, and potential new business lines.
  • Build deep relationships with key ecosystem stakeholders across finance, accounting, and the broader CFO/Controller ecosystem to expand MAVI’s reach.
  • Establish metrics and systems to track partnership performance, ensuring we build a repeatable, data-driven partnerships engine.
  • Attend key in-person events & conferences to build relationships in the industry.
  • Represent MAVI externally, acting as a trusted and strategic partner to organizations in our ecosystem.
  • Over time, scale and lead the partnerships & business development function as the company grows.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5-8+ years overall work experience; with prior experience in partnerships, business development, or strategic sales, ideally in a high-growth startup environment is preferred; open to candidates with prior work experience in management consulting or finance/venture capital.
  • A track record of sourcing, negotiating, and closing partnerships, strategic deals/transactions or sales that drive meaningful business impact.
  • Strong ability to identify and unlock non-obvious growth channels and partnership opportunities.
  • Experience building processes and systems from scratch.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, networking, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial instincts and strategic thinking, with the ability to evaluate partnership opportunities quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Unparalleled hustle, ambition and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.
  • A builder’s mindset- scrappy, data-driven, hungry, and humble.
  • Bonus: Experience working with finance, accounting, or fintech ecosystems, or selling into finance and accounting leaders.
