A Brand Copy Lead That Puts People To Sleep đ„±đŽTL;DR (because attention spans are real):
We are looking for a Brand Copy Lead who can lead our copywriting team and take charge of copywriting for our brand, Manta Sleep. Your mission is to empower light sleepers by creating copy for our product pages, landing pages, website, email newsletters, sales campaigns, hero copy and more! Your contribution will have a direct impact on our sales conversion and revenue (no pressure!). The ideal candidate will be confident working autonomously, proactive in exploring innovative copy ideas and lead our team to the next level.
Proficiency in English as a first language is essential for this role.
Time zone: Full-time within South Africa or Europe
Salary: NegotiableÂ
Trial Period: All candidates will complete a paid trial assignment - more details below.
đ WHO WE ACTUALLY NEED (and who we donât)
- This isnât for freelancers moonlighting or wanting a side hustle.
- Itâs not for someone who feels uncomfortable taking initiative, and who may need a lot of handholding.
This is however for someone who:
- Has 8+ years direct response copywriting experience.
- Has at least 3 years of experience as a Brand Copy Lead.
- Ecommerce experience is a plus.
- Gets things done, is resourceful, driven, creative, and doesnât need hand-holding to deliver great work.
- Wants to be part of a collaborative team with a clear mission that actually matters.
- Cares deeply and is passionate about the science of sleep and loves the idea of helping people live better lives.
- Possesses a natural, meticulous attention to detail in both your thinking and your final copy. Typos fear you.Â
- Has strong critical thinking skills, i.e., can take complex ideas and turn them into sharp, simple stories that make people care.
- Takes initiative, stays reliable, and delivers top-quality copy every single time.
- English is your native language.
- Is tech-savvy, and picks up new tools faster than most.
đŻ WHAT YOUâLL BE DOING
- Lead and mentor a junior/mid-level copywriter to maintain consistent tone, voice, and brand messaging across all channels.
- Collaborate with marketing, design, and product teams to craft messaging for hero campaigns and brand storytelling.
- Develop high-converting copy for sales campaigns, product launches, and promotional funnels.
- Write persuasive email sequences and autoresponders that drive engagement, retention, and revenue.
- Support the team in creating compelling product listings, landing pages, and paid ad copy optimised for conversion and SEO.
- Review and edit all written content for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with brand voice.
- Analyse campaign performance and use data to refine copy and improve conversion rates.
- Conduct competitor and market research to identify copy trends and opportunities.
- Uphold brand guidelines and ensure consistent execution of tone across all touchpoints.
