Role: Fractional Brand Manager

This role is ideal for former agency strategists, senior brand managers, or marketing directors who want to architect brand identities and oversee market positioning for multiple companies on a part-time, project-based, or advisory retainer basis.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Brand Strategy & Positioning: Defining the core identity, mission, vision, and unique value proposition to clearly differentiate the company from its competitors.
- Identity Management: Developing and strictly enforcing brand guidelines to ensure visual and verbal consistency across all internal departments and external touchpoints.
- Campaign Orchestration: Leading the conceptualization and cross-functional execution of major brand awareness campaigns and high-stakes product launches.
- Market Research: Conducting qualitative and quantitative research to understand customer sentiment, track brand health, and identify emerging cultural trends.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Partnering with product, sales, and customer success teams to ensure the theoretical brand promise is actually delivered in the real-world customer experience.
- Agency Management: Briefing and directing external creative, public relations, and media partners to ensure all outsourced work aligns perfectly with the overarching brand vision.
- Messaging Architecture: Crafting the foundational narratives, taglines, elevator pitches, and key talking points utilized by executives and sales teams.
- Reputation Management: Monitoring public perception and guiding the brand narrative during times of market volatility, crisis, or significant corporate change.
Required qualities may include:
- Proven Experience: Background as a Brand Manager, Brand Strategist, or Marketing Director within agency, consumer, or B2B environments.
- Strategic Vision: The ability to see the big picture and understand how incremental, daily marketing activities build compounding brand equity overtime.
- Creative Taste: A strong, objective eye for high-quality design and copy, coupled with the ability to provide clear, constructive direction to creative teams.
- Customer Empathy: A deep understanding of the target audience's psychological drivers, pain points, and behavioral nuances.
- Diplomacy & Influence: The authority to say "no" to off-brand initiatives and the tact to align historically siloed departments around a single corporate identity.
- Analytical Aptitude: The capacity to measure the seemingly intangible—tracking brand awareness, sentiment shifts, and share of voice against competitors.
- Storytelling: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to translate abstract brand concepts into compelling, easily understood market narratives.
