Dan Cabral Design (DCD) is an independent product design engineering practice based in Melbourne, Australia, working across projects of varying scale and complexity. DCD combines industrial design and mechanical engineering to develop solutions for manufacture, marketing, and conceptual exploration. Role Description
This remote internship role focuses on social media marketing and product design support for Dan Cabral Design. Day-to-day tasks include creating and scheduling social media content, assisting with visual storytelling of projects, and helping to grow the online presence across relevant platforms. The intern will support product design activities by contributing to concept development, preparing basic CAD visuals, and assisting with documentation for client presentations and marketing materials.
- Strong interest in social media + content creation, with great attention to detail
- Confident communicator: clear, transparent, and comfortable asking questions and presenting work
- Excellent organisation skills and reliable follow-through
- Comfortable with Figma, Canva and/or Adobe tools (PS/AI/Premiere/After Effects—any mix is fine)
- Preferred: exposure to Industrial Design / product design / engineering
- Bonus: familiarity with Figma and Trello for project workflows
- Support planning + scheduling content across LinkedIn/IG/TikTok (content calendar)
- Create content: short-form video, carousels, simple graphics, captions (Canva/Adobe)
- Capture and repurpose behind-the-scenes: sketches, workshop, 3D prints, iterations, client work (as approved)
- Basic editing in Adobe (Premiere/AE/PS/AI) or CapCut, VLLO
- Bonus: familiarity with Industrial Design / 3D CAD (SolidWorks/Fusion/OnShape or similar)
- Assist with community management (comments/DMs) and professional communication
- Track performance and produce clear weekly updates (what posted, what worked, what to try next)
- Work transparently and collaborate with DCD Team using Trello (tasks) + Figma (assets/brand templates) + Notion/Drive (organisation) + Whatsapp (quick communication and updates)
- Plan, write, and schedule content across LinkedIn (plus IG/TikTok and other platforms as needed)
- Create posts: short-form video, carousels, captions, and simple graphics
- Turn product design + engineering projects into content (CAD/renders, prototypes, testing, iteration, design insights)
- Prepare content for blogs and website development
- Help capture behind-the-scenes content and organise assets for reuse
- Support community management (comments/DMs) with a professional tone
- Track results and share simple, clear weekly reports and recommendations
- Collaborate using Trello/Figma (and Notion/Drive) to keep tasks and assets organised
- Real portfolio work creating content from live product design/engineering projects
- Mentorship, structured feedback, and a systemised workflow
- Flexible hours, clear tasks, and potential ongoing work based on performance

- I need to see how you communicate and present yourself and hear a bit about you to gauge if you seem to be good DCD material for this unpaid internship 3 to 6 month internship.
- Please specify your realistic minimum weekly availability or proposed roster so I can see what days and hours you will be available at a minimum. Typically this is 20 to 40 hours per week spread across 4 to 6 days but varies with each Team Member and flexibility is one of the benefits of DCD freelancing.
