The Role:

We are seeking a Head of Marketing to lead and evolve CyberOwl’s global marketing function.

Reporting to the leadership team, you will define and execute marketing strategy, strengthen our market position, increase brand awareness, generate demand, and support revenue growth. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic thinking and practical execution.

You will work closely with CyberOwl and DNV stakeholders to identify opportunities, challenge conventional thinking, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Location:

Fully remote, with occasional domestic and international travel for customer meetings, conferences, industry events, and visits to CyberOwl or DNV offices.

Our Marketing Approach:

The maritime and offshore cybersecurity market is evolving rapidly. Customers face increasing cyber threats and expanding regulatory requirements, creating strong demand for trusted guidance and expertise. At CyberOwl, marketing is focused less on product promotion and more on education, thought leadership, and customer engagement. We help customers understand cyber risks, navigate regulations, and make informed decisions while positioning CyberOwl as a recognised leader in maritime cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy & Market Insight

  • Develop a deep understanding of target customers, buying behaviours, market trends, and regional differences.
  • Identify effective customer acquisition strategies across geographies.
  • Monitor cybersecurity trends, regulations, and industry developments.
  • Translate market intelligence into thought leadership, engagement strategies, and business opportunities.
  • Shape CyberOwl’s positioning, value proposition, and competitive differentiation.
  • Collaborate with leadership on long-term growth initiatives.

Marketing Performance & Budget Management

  • Own and manage the annual marketing budget.
  • Define KPIs and reporting frameworks.
  • Measure ROI across marketing activities.
  • Use data and insights to optimise campaigns, channels, and programmes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in marketing effectiveness.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing marketing team.
  • Set clear objectives and performance expectations.
  • Support professional growth and capability development.
  • Build a data-driven, results-focused marketing culture.

Campaign Development & Demand Generation

  • Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns aligned to business goals.
  • Coordinate activity across channels and stakeholders.
  • Define campaign objectives, budgets, and success metrics.
  • Use performance data to maximise impact and ROI.
  • Develop innovative and unconventional marketing initiatives that differentiate CyberOwl and drive measurable business results.

Content & Digital Marketing

  • Lead CyberOwl’s content strategy.
  • Create audience-focused content that supports brand awareness, thought leadership, engagement, and demand generation.
  • Oversee content across articles, reports, case studies, webinars, social media, and other formats.
  • Produce compelling copy for campaigns, websites, sales enablement, and customer communications.
  • Manage and optimise CyberOwl’s website, LinkedIn, and X presence.
  • Drive SEO, audience growth, engagement, traffic, and lead generation.

PR, Media & Industry Engagement

  • Build relationships with industry media, analysts, conference organisers, and influencers.
  • Secure opportunities that increase visibility and credibility.
  • Coordinate media engagement, speaking opportunities, awards submissions, and event participation.
  • Strengthen CyberOwl’s reputation as a thought leader in maritime cybersecurity.

Collaboration with DNV

Since becoming part of DNV in 2024, CyberOwl has gained access to significant global resources and expertise.

You will:

  • Collaborate with DNV marketing teams.
  • Leverage relevant campaigns, channels, tools, and best practices.
  • Build strong relationships across the wider DNV organisation.
  • Help elevate CyberOwl’s profile within both DNV and the maritime cybersecurity market.
