Part-Time Marketing Manager Hotel / Lodging / Outdoor Hospitality
Location: Remote
Type: Part-Time Contract (10–15 hours/week)
Compensation: $25–$40/hour
Timeline: 3–6 month project with potential to transition into a full-time role
About the Role
We are seeking a strategic, generalist Marketing Manager. The goal of this person is to drive bookings and revenue at our overnight lodging portfolio in the outdoor hospitality and wellness space.
This person will be overseeing several marketing and advertising channels, assessing their performance, and making strategic adjustments to maximize return on ad spend.
This person must have experience driving bookings / revenue for overnight lodging properties. General hotel / lodging experience is the base level requirement, and unique stays, glamping, boutique hotels, or experiential travel brands are preferred.
This role is ideal for someone who understands how to market highly visual, experience-driven accommodations that do not fit the traditional hotel model. Our outdoor hospitality properties are centered around nature-based properties, experiences, and wellness driven stays.
This person will oversee the performance of our overall marketing ecosystem, identify opportunities for growth, troubleshoot underperforming campaigns or vendors, and help refine the customer journey from discovery to booking.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and evaluate performance across multiple marketing and advertising channels and the whole funnel
- Analyze campaign effectiveness and recommend budget allocation adjustments based on performance
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in marketing strategy and implement solutions
- Oversee website performance and conversion optimization efforts
- Evaluate guest booking behavior and identify opportunities to improve upsells, upgrades, and conversion rates
- Collaborate with third-party vendors, agencies, and freelancers to ensure strong execution and ROI
- Identify when vendor performance is lacking and recommend alternatives when necessary
- Support digital marketing efforts including paid advertising, email marketing, SEO, social media, and content strategy
- Ensure marketing aligns with the unique brand positioning of experiential lodging and outdoor hospitality
- Help maintain brand consistency across all customer touchpoints
- Provide regular reporting and actionable insights on marketing performance and growth opportunities
Current Marketing and Advertising Structure and Tech Stack:
- Paid social: Mostly Meta, handled by 3rd party specialist
- Organic Social and Influencers: Handled in house
- Email marketing: Go High Level, handled by 3rd party specialist
- Website optimization: Edited via Wix, handled in house
- Landing pages: Handled by 3rd party specialist
- SEO / Google analytics: Handled by 3rd party specialist
- Google PPC: Handled by 3rd party specialist
- Property Management Software (PMS) Integration and performance analysis: Storable Newbook
- PR: TBD
Qualifications
- Previous marketing experience within lodging, hospitality, travel, tourism, glamping, boutique hotels, RV resorts, or unique stays preferred
- Strong understanding of digital marketing performance metrics and conversion optimization
- Experience managing or assessing multiple marketing channels simultaneously
- Ability to think strategically while also executing tactically
- Comfortable analyzing website performance, customer journey, and booking funnels
- Experience working with external marketing vendors or agencies
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Self-starter who can work independently and make informed recommendations
- Passion for experiential hospitality, outdoor travel, and guest experience-driven brands
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate understands that experiential lodging markets differently than traditional hotels. You know how to market highly visual, design-forward stays that sell an experience, not just a room. You’re comfortable looking at the full picture — from paid ads and website conversion to guest psychology and vendor performance — and making recommendations that directly impact bookings and revenue.
Opportunity
This role will begin as a part-time contract position for an initial 3–6 month engagement, with strong potential to grow into a full-time opportunity based on performance and company growth.
