Online Merchandiser (DTC Subscription)
Job Description
Posted on: March 10, 2026
What if your analysis of product performance could directly influence millions in online revenue?
That’s exactly the opportunity here.
A fast-growing digital consumer brand is hiring an Online Merchandiser to help drive how products are discovered, promoted and sold across its ecommerce site. The business has built a loyal online customer base and is continuing to grow quickly — and this role will play a key part in making sure the right products are visible, available and performing at their best.
This isn’t about maintaining product listings. It’s about using data, curiosity and commercial thinking to spot opportunities, improve product visibility and influence trading performance.
If you enjoy understanding why certain products outperform others — and using that insight to improve results — this role will give you the space to do it.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll sit at the intersection of product performance, ecommerce trading and data analysis.
Your focus will be understanding what’s selling, why it’s selling, and how to improve it.
On a typical week, you’ll:
- Analyse product and category performance to identify growth opportunities
- Track sales versus forecast and highlight risks around stock availability
- Work with operations to ensure key products are available during promotional periods
- Improve how products are surfaced across the site through better merchandising
- Identify opportunities for upsells, cross-sells and improved product discovery
- Collaborate with digital marketing teams to understand what’s driving demand
- Turn insights into clear actions that improve revenue and conversion
Your recommendations won’t sit in a report — they’ll directly influence how products are merchandised and sold online.
The type of person who will enjoy this role
You’re someone who naturally asks questions like:
- Why did that product suddenly spike in sales?
- Why are customers choosing this product over another?
- What small change could improve conversion here?
You’ll likely already be working in e-commerce and want a role where you can own product performance more directly.
You might currently be a:
- Online Merchandiser
- eCommerce Merchandiser
- Digital Trading Executive
- eCommerce Executive
…and ready to step into a position where your analysis genuinely shapes commercial decisions.
You’ll likely bring:
- Around 2+ years experience in ecommerce merchandising or trading
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and confidence analysing product data
- Experience reviewing sales trends, SKU performance or category reports
- An understanding of how onsite merchandising impacts conversion
- A proactive mindset and the confidence to suggest improvements
Experience in direct-to-consumer brands, subscription businesses or fast-growing ecommerce environments would be particularly valuable.
Why this role is worth exploring
This is a newly created position in a business where ecommerce performance matters — meaning your work will be visible and valued.
You’ll have the chance to:
- Take ownership of how products perform across a growing ecommerce site
- Work with rich customer and product data to influence real decisions
- Collaborate with digital marketing, ecommerce and operations teams
- Develop your commercial understanding of ecommerce trading
The company operates remotely across the UK, with regular in-person meetups throughout the year to connect and collaborate.
