Contract · Full-time hours · Remote (US-based only)
A fast-growing digital media team is looking for an experienced, creative, and highly analytical YouTube Strategist to lead strategy and growth across multiple channels, with a strong focus on podcasts, music content, interviews, live sessions, and artist-led programming.
You’ll be the go-to YouTube expert: shaping content formats, building and optimizing publishing calendars, and turning performance data into clear, actionable strategy. You’ll work across several brands, helping hosts, artists, and creators grow their audiences and deepen engagement on YouTube.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute YouTube strategies for podcast, music, and creator-driven content across multiple channels.
- Shape formats for long-form episodes, highlight clips, and Shorts to maximize watch time and audience growth.
- Identify high-performing moments from shows and turn them into optimized clips and Shorts.
- Own YouTube SEO and discoverability: titles, thumbnails, descriptions, tags, playlists, and overall packaging.
- Maintain consistent upload schedules and daily optimization based on trends, performance, and audience behavior.
- Analyze channel performance (watch time, CTR, audience retention, subscriber growth) and deliver clear, ongoing reports and recommendations.
- Use audience insights and competitive analysis to spot growth opportunities and refine strategy.
- Stay ahead of YouTube trends, product updates, and best practices; test new content formats and monetization tools.
- Collaborate closely with talent, hosts, artists, and internal content teams to align on brand, goals, and growth roadmaps.
You’re a great fit if you:
- Have 5+ years of hands-on YouTube channel management experience (podcasts, media, music, or creator-led brands).
- Can point to a proven track record of growing channels and increasing engagement.
- Bring a strong portfolio that highlights strategy development, content packaging, copywriting, and campaign execution.
- Deeply understand YouTube SEO and the recommendation algorithm, and know how to use keyword research and metadata to drive discoverability.
- Are comfortable cutting and shaping video content, giving clear feedback on editing, thumbnails, titles, and hooks.
- Excel at communication and collaboration, especially with on-camera talent and creative teams.
- Have strong planning and project management skills, and can oversee multiple channels and campaigns at once.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Have a genuine passion for podcasts, music, and culture and stay plugged into what’s trending on YouTube.
What you’ll impact:
- Brand awareness and subscriber growth across multiple YouTube channels.
- Content performance through smarter packaging, positioning, and storytelling.
- Audience engagement by aligning content with viewer interests and habits.
- Long-term channel health via data-backed strategy, testing, and iteration.
If you live and breathe YouTube, love podcasts and music, and enjoy combining creative instincts with rigorous analytics, this role is for you. Apply today!
