Ricky Strauss Joins DC Studios for Superman Marketing Strategy - Here's What to Expect!

Ricky Strauss Takes the Helm for Superman's Marketing

Seasoned marketing veteran Ricky Strauss has been brought on board to consult for DC Studios on the highly anticipated film, “Superman.”

DC Studios co-chief Peter Safran emphasized, “We are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to ensuring that audiences know about and experience our film.” This marks Strauss's first project since departing from his role as Apple TV+ head of marketing last year.

A Proven Track Record

During his tenure at Apple, Strauss was instrumental in leading consumer marketing campaigns and creative advertising for Apple TV+’s original series and films. His hiring follows the exit of Warner Bros. global marketing chief Josh Goldstine in January, with Safran and co-chief James Gunn feeling supported by WBD head David Zaslav.

Strauss's Impressive Background

Before Apple, Strauss held prominent positions at Disney+, where he was president of programming and content marketing. He directed marketing strategies for blockbuster franchises like Star Wars and Marvel, as well as hits such as “The Jungle Book,” “Cinderella,” “Frozen,” and more. His earlier career included a role as president of Participant Media, overseeing award-winning films like “The Help” and “An Inconvenient Truth.”

Superman's New Vision

Written and directed by Gunn, the film is inspired by DC Comics’ “All Star Superman” and explores Superman’s journey to balance his Kryptonian legacy with his upbringing as Clark Kent in Smallville. This version portrays Superman as a symbol of truth, justice, and the American way.

Cast Highlights: David Cornswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

Release Date: Superman is set to hit theaters exclusively on July 11.
