The Mets’ C-suite is undergoing a significant transformation as several high-profile executives exit the organization. Chief Marketing Officer Andy Goldberg, Chief Legal Officer Katie Pothier, Chief Communications Officer Nancy Elder, and Senior Vice President of Finance Peter Woll are no longer with the team, according to sources.

Goldberg, Pothier, and Elder joined the Mets in 2022, bringing valuable experience from their previous roles:

• Andy Goldberg was formerly SVP/Global Brand Content & Platforms at American Express.
• Nancy Elder came from DAZN, where she served as Chief Communications Officer.
• Katie Pothier was EVP and General Counsel for the Texas Rangers.

Peter Woll had been with the Mets since 2015, serving in various financial executive roles. As of now, there have been no announcements regarding replacements for these key positions, and it remains unclear whether a search firm is involved.

This shakeup follows the arrival of M. Scott Havens from Bloomberg as president before the 2024 season, alongside Katie Haas, who joined as executive vice president of ballpark operations and experience in 2023.

In a notable move, the Mets also hired Samantha Engelhardt, a former NBA executive, as their Chief Operating Officer. Engelhardt will oversee multiple business functions, including communications, finance, strategy & analytics, and technology.

Last season, the Mets made an unexpected run to the National League Championship Series and have since boosted their roster by signing superstar outfielder Juan Soto to a staggering 15-year, $765M deal. This acquisition has already resulted in a significant increase in ticket sales, prompting owner Steve Cohen to express gratitude to fans via Twitter for their enthusiastic response to the Soto signing:

“Ticket sales exploded this week vs. last week. We were (17th) in MLB attendance last year. Any predictions where we end up this year?”
