J.Crew Appoints Julia Collier as Chief Marketing Officer: A Game Changer for the Brand

J.Crew's New Marketing Leader
J.Crew Group has appointed former Skims executive Julia Collier as the new Chief Marketing Officer for its J.Crew brand, starting January 6. Collier, who previously served as the Senior Vice President of Marketing at Skims, will oversee brand marketing and creative strategies at J.Crew, reporting directly to CEO Libby Wadle.
Marketing Organization Restructure
In light of this appointment, J.Crew Group has also restructured its marketing organization. Formerly, Derek Yarbrough held the CMO position for both J.Crew and Madewell, but he has since left the company. Currently, Madewell's marketing responsibilities are managed by the existing team without a designated CMO.
Julia Collier's Background
With nearly 20 years of experience in fashion and marketing, Collier is recognized for her brand-building expertise and innovative marketing strategies. At Skims, she successfully led a 40-person marketing team, shaping the brandâs tone and coordinating high-profile partnerships with organizations like the NBA and luxury brands such as Fendi and Swarovski.
Collier describes J.Crew as an iconic American brand that has maintained a significant cultural presence over the years.
Leadership Statements
Kevin Ulrich, chairman of J.Crew Group, praised Collier's leadership skills and her ability to create innovative marketing strategies that yield results. He emphasized her extensive network and determined approach as assets for the companyâs growth.
