Is Meghan Markle's Positive Marketing Strategy Authentic or Just a Facade?

In her upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, Meghan Markle and her team have invested significant effort into marketing her positive image. However, this effort has been criticized as feeling inauthentic.
As royal expert Helena Chard stated on Fox News Digital, "Meghan's team has helped her put a huge amount of positive marketing and branding spin into her Netflix series." This remark follows an article in The New York Times that compared Markle to Martha Stewart and Nigella Lawson, both of whom have navigated controversies to rebuild their brands.
Chard expressed skepticism about Markleâs ability to succeed in the lifestyle arena, saying, "In time she may make a success within the lifestyle space, but this will take a long time as Meghanâs character does not fit this sickly-sweet picture."
She further criticized the approach, remarking, "It feels inauthentic, like she is trying to fit in somehow by playing a very dated housewifey role⊠very odd and disempowering." Chard noted that Markle's past actions, including distancing herself from family and friends, do not align with the image of love and joy that the series aims to project.
Chard concluded that the series feels dated and suggested that for it to resonate better with audiences, Markle should bring more modern and interesting elements to the show. She also emphasized that having expertise in the field would enhance the credibility of the brand Markle is trying to build, rather than leaving viewers feeling misled by the smoke and mirrors of marketing tactics.
