The Role
We’re building the next generation of analytics products for the sports and media sector. With the core infrastructure already live, we’re now looking for an experienced Data Engineer to help develop the data layer powering our proprietary platforms—PlayCORE and RevCORE.
This part-time, fixed-term role is ideal for someone with a strong background in building scalable data pipelines, shaping clean and efficient data models, and enabling analytics via APIs and semantic layers. You’ll work closely with our technology team to ensure the data foundation is robust, reliable, and ready for scale.
Key Responsibilities
Data Pipeline Development (30%)
- Build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Ingest data from key marketing and analytics platforms (GA4, Meta Ads, TikTok, Google Ads)
- Implement structured logging, error handling, and scheduling frameworks
Data Modelling & Metric Layer (30%)
- Transform raw data into clean, analysis-ready tables and models
- Support the development of both templated and custom campaign performance metrics
- Contribute to the build of a semantic layer to power downstream analytics
API Structuring & Integration (20%)
- Define backend data endpoints to support embedded dashboards and frontend UX
- Ensure APIs are secure, performant, and scalable across tenants
- Align API outputs with frontend filtering and user management logic
QA, Documentation & Knowledge Transfer (20%)
- Conduct structured QA and validation on all pipeline outputs
- Document infrastructure, schema logic, and key decisions for knowledge sharing
- Support internal onboarding and handover for future engineers
About You
Required Skills
- Proven experience building cloud-based ETL pipelines (preferably on GCP)
- Strong SQL and Python skills for data transformation and orchestration
- Experience with digital marketing and analytics data (GA4, Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok)
- Familiarity with semantic layer tools and data modelling (e.g., Cube.js, dbt)
- Meticulous in documentation and QA discipline
Nice to Have
- Experience working in SaaS or multi-tenant environments
- Knowledge of API design and backend/frontend data flow
- Understanding of digital media taxonomies and campaign performance metrics
