Role Description
WeGym is looking for a strategic, creative, and self-sufficient Social Media Manager to own our day-to-day social presence. This role starts as a contract position and is designed to scale into a full-time role as we grow.
You’ll be responsible for planning, scheduling, and publishing all social content; driving community engagement; partnering with ambassadors and influencers; and ensuring our social channels reflect our brand voice and business goals. You’re the type of person who thrives in a fast-moving environment, loves building playbooks, and isn’t afraid to get scrappy.
Key Responsibilities
- Own weekly and monthly social content calendars for both WeGym and WeGym Pro accounts, aligned with launches, promotions, and brand storytelling.
- Plan and execute content that ladders into broader marketing, growth, and revenue goals.
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing Director on product-specific content needs, campaign themes, and creator storytelling.
- Prepare, schedule, publish, and optimize social content across platforms, adapting for best practices, formats, trends, and performance insights.
- Write on-brand, conversion-minded captions that drive engagement and community.
- Partner with the Affiliate Manager to request, manage, and organize creator and ambassador content (UGC, photos, videos, testimonials, tutorials).
- Create and publish blogs that support social, email, and product campaigns.
- Assist with email marketing copy and creative to ensure cross-channel consistency.
- Support creative strategy for paid marketing campaigns, contributing ideas, hooks, and messaging.
•Track, analyze, and report on social and content performance, sharing insights and recommendations to continuously improve results.
Qualifications
- 2–4+ years of experience managing social media for a consumer brand (fitness, wellness, lifestyle, or CPG preferred).
- Deep understanding of current short-form video trends, platform best practices, social storytelling, and bringing an ecommerce brand to life via social.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment with changing priorities and fast timelines.
- Strong communicator, proactive, organized, and confident in managing deadlines.
- Attention to detail and strong copywriting skills
- Creative thinker with an eye for content and a passion for building community.
- Graphic/video skills (CapCut, Adobe Express, Canva)
•Bonus: familiarity with hubspot or email/SMS marketing
