We're working with a leading search and social marketing agency to recruit an SEO Account Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEO professional to take ownership of retained accounts within a well-established, forward-thinking agency.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical SEO expertise, a meticulous eye for detail, and a genuine passion for the discipline. They'll be confident managing SEO strategies, as well as delivering standalone projects such as keyword research, technical audits and taxonomy work. A solid understanding of how AI is reshaping search — from AI-driven tools to optimising for AI and generative search results — is increasingly important. Automotive sector experience would be a distinct advantage.

Job Summary

As an SEO Account Manager, you'll manage retained client accounts spanning technical, on-site and content SEO, while supporting more junior members of the team. You'll be a key point of contact for your clients, helping shape the strategic direction of their accounts and driving measurable performance gains.

The SEO department is supported by dedicated content, digital PR, data and insights, and client services teams. The agency prides itself on high-quality, forward-thinking strategies that scale clients' overall digital performance.

The successful candidate will have solid SEO experience gained either client or agency side, with strong analytical skills and the ability to produce weekly reporting, monthly reviews and quarterly business reviews. This is a great next step for an SEO professional looking to take on greater client ownership and responsibility.

Key Requirements

• Ability to develop and execute SEO strategies.
• Strong technical and on-site SEO knowledge.
• Familiarity with AI tools for SEO and an understanding of AI/generative search (e.g. AI Overviews, LLM-driven results) and its impact on strategy.
• Confident managing client relationships directly.
• Ability to deliver an excellent standard of work while meeting deadlines and working to strategic briefs, on budget and on brand.
• Track record of maintaining high client retention through long-lasting relationships.
• Enthusiasm for SEO, staying ahead of new trends and techniques and sharing knowledge across the team.
• Minimum 2–3 years' SEO experience.
• Automotive sector experience a bonus.
