Fully remote
Salary $4,000 to $5,000 depending on experience
Most creative strategy jobs are either glorified copywriting or vague big-idea work that never gets measured. Here, your hypotheses run against real spend for real brands, and the data tells you within days whether you were right. That feedback loop will make you a sharper strategist than any shop where creative is judged on taste and a kickoff deck. You'll learn what actually makes people buy, not what sounds good in a brainstorm.
You'll work with designers and editors who can genuinely execute your concepts, inside a fast-growing agency where creative sits at the center of performance. Strong ideas get made well here, and they get tested. If you're consumer-obsessed and you want to know whether your instincts are right, this is the place.
The role
You own the concept. You turn audience insight, brand positioning, and performance data into the angles, hooks, and messaging frameworks that power paid social campaigns, and you hand the creative team briefs clear enough to execute without guessing. You decide what to test next and why.
This is a strategic ideation role. You're the brain behind the creative, working through the creative team rather than on client calls.
What you'll do
- Develop the creative strategy. Concept-driven strategy for paid social: angles, hooks, messaging frameworks, and format recommendations grounded in why a specific audience buys.
- Do the research that fuels it. Dig into audience psychology, competitor ads, and market trends to find the insight that makes the creative stronger than a guess.
- Write briefs people can actually build from. Clear, detailed briefs that give designers, editors, and UGC creators exactly what they need, with the strategic intent intact.
- Iterate on the data. Read creative performance, separate what's working from what isn't, and decide what to test next. You drive the test-and-learn loop, you don't just watch it.
- Develop UGC concepts and scripts. Content that feels native to the platform while staying strategically on point.
- Make strategy survive execution. Work closely with the creative team so the concept that ships is the concept you intended.
Who you are
- Real direct-response creative chops, with a track record to back them. You've developed performance creative that actually performed. We weight depth over tenure, but figure 3+ years in creative strategy, direct-response, or performance creative, and we'll want to see concepts that won, not just a list of campaigns.
- A genuinely strong writer. Hooks, scripts, and messaging frameworks that land. You can make a sharp idea legible in a single line.
- Fluent in performance data. You use it to drive and defend creative decisions. You're comfortable being told by the numbers that you were wrong, and changing course fast.
- Consumer-obsessed. You're always pulling apart why people buy and what's working in the market, because that's the raw material of the job.
- Experienced with UGC. You've written scripts or briefs for short-form video content and you understand what makes it feel native.
- You're an independent problem solver. When you hit a problem, you don't just flag it and walk away. You diagnose the cause, work out the options, and come with the solution you'd pick. Better yet, where it's yours to fix, you fix it and keep the right people in the loop. The floor here is non-negotiable: you never hand someone a problem without a recommended solution attached.
- You're sharp with AI. We're an AI-native shop and we expect you to be too. The right way to use it is as leverage: it makes you faster and lets you try things that weren't possible before. The wrong way is shipping whatever the model gives you and calling it done. We can tell the difference between AI used with taste and AI used to skip the work, and so can the algorithm. Your taste and judgment are the job. Use the tools hard, but everything that ships has your eye on it, not just the model's.
- You're an adult and you expect to be treated like one. You do your best work when you're trusted to run with it, not when someone's checking your timeline. You hold yourself to a high bar without being told to, and you'd be insulted by a job that needed to manage you.
How we'll measure you
- Creative win rate. The angles and concepts you develop get tested. Your hit rate on winners is the core measure.
- Brief quality. Execution comes back right because your briefs were clear. The creative team isn't guessing or redoing work.
- Learning velocity. How fast you move from a losing concept to a winning one. You read the data and the next test is smarter for it.
- Creative's contribution to performance. Where creative is the lever on an account, your work moves the number.
This role isn't for you if
- You think great creative is about taste alone and bristle when the data disagrees with you.
- You hand off half-formed ideas and expect the creative team to fill in the gaps.
- You fall in love with your concepts and won't kill them when they stop converting.
