Job Title: Social Media Manager (Unpaid, Volunteer, Remote)Location: Remote
Duration: 20 weeks (with potential extension or transition to a paid, official position + ESOP)
Overview:
Svello is a dynamic proptech platform designed to make buying, selling, and renting properties as seamless as swiping left or right. Our digital presence is the pulse of our brand, driving engagement and building community across multiple channels. We are seeking a Social Media Manager (Volunteer) to spearhead our social media strategy and execution. In this role, you'll lead our content calendar, manage platform-specific campaigns, grow our online community, and help establish Svello as a thought leader in the proptech space.
This is a volunteer position ideal for someone passionate about social media strategy and community building in the real estate tech space. Outstanding contributors will be considered for a paid leadership role and receive equity through our ESOP upon successful fundraising.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter, and emerging platforms
- Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video, written) that aligns with Svello's brand voice and visual identity
- Build and nurture an engaged community of homebuyers, sellers, renters, and real estate enthusiasts
- Monitor social media trends, platform updates, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
- Track, analyze, and report on social media performance metrics; optimize strategies based on data insights
- Collaborate with the creative team (designers, video editors) to produce compelling multimedia content
- Manage social media advertising campaigns and budget allocation (when applicable)
- Coordinate with product and growth teams to align social initiatives with broader marketing campaigns
- Respond to community comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely, brand-appropriate manner
- Establish influencer partnerships and user-generated content programs
- Attend regular remote meetings and contribute to team strategies and roadmap discussions
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in social media management, preferably in a tech, proptech, or startup environment
- Proven track record of growing social media accounts and building engaged communities (please provide metrics/examples)
- Expert-level understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices
- Strong content creation skills with proficiency in Canva, CapCut, or similar tools
- Experience with social media management/scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Later)
- Basic understanding of social media advertising and analytics platforms
- Excellent copywriting and storytelling abilities with strong attention to brand voice
- Previous experience managing or coordinating with content creators is a strong plus
- Bachelor’s degree (completed or in-progress) in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field preferred
Compensation:
This position is unpaid at this stage. However, it includes:
- Opportunity to earn equity through Svello’s ESOP
- Potential to transition into a paid leadership role upon successful fundraising
