About The Role We are seeking a highly strategic and creative SEO Content Strategist to join our team remotely. This role is pivotal in translating keyword insights into compelling, high-performing content that drives organic growth and enhances category authority. The ideal candidate will develop and implement SEO-driven content strategies across various platforms, including blogs, product pages, FAQs, and category descriptions, to increase visibility, engagement, and conversions within The Pond Guy’s eCommerce ecosystem. You will play a critical role in optimizing content around seasonal trends and weather-driven demand, aligning search strategies with pond, lake, and water garden maintenance cycles throughout the year. This position requires a hands-on approach to content creation, on-page SEO optimization, and performance analysis, working closely with marketing, eCommerce, and creative teams to ensure content aligns with brand voice and SEO best practices. Success in this role will be measured by growth in organic traffic, improved keyword rankings, customer engagement, and conversion metrics. - Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in SEO content strategy or content-focused SEO, preferably within a B2C eCommerce environment
- Solid understanding of on-page SEO fundamentals, search intent, and conversion-focused content creation
- Proficiency in keyword research using enterprise SEO tools to identify opportunities, analyze performance, and map keywords to content
- Exceptional writing, editing, and content development skills, with the ability to produce clear, authoritative, and customer-centric content
- Hands-on experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console for performance analysis and optimization
- Strong attention to detail, proofreading skills, and ability to balance feedback while maintaining brand consistency
- Knowledge of evolving search trends, AI, and generative engine optimization (GEO) strategies
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and translate technical SEO insights into actionable content recommendations
- Self-motivated, innovative, flexible, and resourceful with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving sitting at a desk, long hours on a computer, and light physical activity such as lifting up to 35 pounds
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine SEO-driven content strategies to increase organic traffic, improve search rankings, and enhance content performance across multiple channels
- Create high-quality, search-optimized content from concept to final draft, ensuring alignment with brand voice and SEO best practices
- Conduct comprehensive keyword research focusing on search intent, content gaps, and competitive analysis to inform content planning
- Lead SEO reporting efforts, analyze performance data, and prioritize optimization opportunities to boost rankings and engagement
- Optimize on-page elements such as meta titles, meta descriptions, headers, schema markup, and internal linking to maximize SEO impact
- Ensure all content is clear, trustworthy, and compelling, supporting customer decision-making and conversion goals
- Stay current with search engine algorithm updates, AI advancements, and content trends to proactively adapt strategies
- Collaborate with marketing, eCommerce, and creative teams to translate technical insights into actionable content recommendations
- Support seasonal content planning, aligning organic search strategies with pond, lake, and water garden maintenance cycles
- Monitor content performance using analytics tools and adjust strategies to improve results continually
