Snap2Story | Remote, Australia | Contract
Join the team making every child the hero of their own story
Every child deserves to open a book and say “That’s me.”
Snap2Story turns a single snap into a recognisable illustrated character. A photo of your child. A creature they drew at the kitchen table. Then that character stars in a personalised storybook, a birthday card, a keepsake to hold. Not just their name on the page. Their face, their personality, their adventure, consistent from cover to final page and from one book to the next.
That’s book one. From there it grows into more adventures, cards and keepsakes, and in time personalised learning, all starring the same character. We see a big future in a child who recognises themselves in what they read.
Our founders, two dads with young families, teamed up because they wanted something better for their own kids. Thousands of photos that never became anything, and shelves of books about someone else’s child. We’re based in NSW. First customers are in, the app is live on iOS and Android, and families are starting to read stories with Snap2story.
We’re early. We’re small. Investors onboard. And we’re building something no one else in Australia is building.
About the role
Content is the thing standing between us and the families who’d love this. We know exactly what we want people to feel. We don’t yet have enough content to make them feel it.
That’s the opportunity. You won’t be inheriting a library and polishing it. You’ll be building it from the ground up: making the first real transformation reveals, social content, filming the founders, website content, shooting with families, platform demos, creating books through our own platform and turning the whole thing into content people share.
You’ll be the first content hire. What you make will define how Australia meets Snap2Story.
What you’d be doing
- Making short-form video for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and paid ads. Photo-to-character reveals, book and card transformations, founder pieces to camera, family reactions, UGC-style edits. Many of these will be the first of their kind for us.
- Getting the raw material yourself. Filming the founders, running small shoots with real families, screen-recording the app, creating characters, books and cards through the platform so you always have real output to work with.
- Writing captions and hooks that sound like a person, not a brand.
- Delivering ad-ready assets, multiple hook variants per piece, so we can test what works and double down fast.
- Keeping the website and socials full of real characters, real books, real families and real moments as we ship.
- Reading the numbers with us. We watch shares and saves in the first 48 hours and track every piece through the funnel. You’ll learn what lands and use it on the next one.
- Growing with the role. Get this right and you shape how content is done here as the team grows.
You’re probably a match if
- You make things on social media every day, not just scroll it.
- You can shoot, edit and write. You’re fluent in CapCut and Final Cut Pro, comfortable in Canva, and happy with a phone as your main camera.
- You’ve made UGC-style or performance content that’s actually run, and you can show it.
- You understand why the first second of a video matters more than the last.
- You write short and specific. You know “she made me read it four times” beats “an unforgettable keepsake.”
- You get parents. You know what a mum shares at 9pm and what a grandad forwards to the family chat.
- You’re happy building from nothing. A brief, a phone and a founder’s camera roll is enough for you to get going.
- You’re based in Australia. Sydney is a bonus for shoot days.
We don’t mind whether this is your first job or your third career. Documentarian, wedding videographer, TikTok obsessive, agency editor who’s over the decks. If you make good content fast and you can prove it, we want to hear from you.
A few things we hold to
- Every illustrated child we show is real Snap2Story output. No photoreal AI-generated kids, ever.
- No invented testimonials or made-up numbers.
- We write like humans. No em dashes, no “magical,” no “amazing.” Specific detail over adjectives.
What’s in it for you
- A blank canvas and a real product families already love.
- Founders who’ll give you direction, then get out of your way.
- Your work in a child’s hands the same week you make it.
- A contract that grows with the role. Details in the first conversation.
How to apply
Send us a link to something you’ve made that you’re proud of, a resume and a bit about you. That’s it.
If we think it could be a fit, we’ll be in touch.
