THE LEAD SHOPIFY DEVELOPER ROLE

As a Lead Shopify Developer, you’ll take ownership of Shopify delivery across multiple projects, building new storefronts and custom themes while maintaining and enhancing existing platforms.

You’ll work closely with designers, project managers, and marketing teams to deliver high-performing, scalable eCommerce solutions. Alongside hands-on development, you’ll contribute to coding standards, conduct code reviews, and support the development of junior team members.

LEAD SHOPIFY DEVELOPER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Strong commercial experience developing with Shopify
• Advanced skills in Liquid, HTML, CSS / SCSS, and JavaScript
• Experience building and customising Shopify 2.0 themes
• Experience integrating third-party apps and APIs
• Strong understanding of responsive design, performance, and accessibility
• Experience optimising Shopify stores for speed, SEO, and mobile performance
• Version control experience using Git
• Ability to mentor junior developers and lead technical discussions

DESIRABLE SKILLS

• Experience with Shopify Hydrogen / Oxygen or headless commerce
• Exposure to modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Remix
• Experience with Theme App Extensions
• Custom Shopify app development using Shopify App Bridge
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
• Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals and performance optimisation
