We’re partnering with a creative agency to find a CRM / Email Strategist for a fully remote freelance opportunity. This role is ideal for someone who can lead CRM and email strategy from assessment through recommendation, while helping internal teams sharpen planning and execution. You’ll be responsible for developing strategic recommendations across segmentation, personalization, lifecycle marketing, and campaign planning. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating enterprise CRM ecosystems, understanding data and platform limitations, and translating complexity into clear, client-ready roadmaps and actionable briefs. This is a strong fit for someone who brings both strategic depth and practical operational thinking—someone who can define the “what” and “why,” then help the team execute more efficiently.

**6 weeks to start + chance to extend**Work samples required of pitch decks / playbooks / email samples**Ideally looking for someone who is currently consulting on their own and fine with hours per week that my fluctuateResponsibilities:

  • Audit existing Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) workflow, gather requirements from client and lead the strategy - final deliverable is a playbook to recommend scope, timing, etc.
  • Playbook includes: Rules, User flows, Trigger logic, Lifecycle journeys, Campaign hierarchy, Modular strategy framework
  • Consider: Data structure, Journey setup, Segmentation capabilities, establish clear structure + system logic, etc
  • Focused on segmentation, personalization, and customer lifecycle management.
  • Evaluate existing CRM programs and identify opportunities to enhance customer journeys, messaging relevance, and overall program performance.
  • Assess enterprise CRM ecosystems, including platform capabilities, data structures, and operational constraints, to inform strategic planning.
  • Prepare client-facing audits, strategy presentations, and roadmaps that clearly communicate insights and recommendations.
  • Translate strategic plans into actionable briefs and documentation to guide creative, production, and execution teams.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' proven experience in designing and implementing CRM, email, or lifecycle marketing strategies (SFMC preferred but any CRM is fine)
  • Strong background in segmentation, personalization, customer journey mapping, and campaign planning.
  • Familiarity with enterprise CRM and marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign, Braze, Iterable, or HubSpot.
  • Ability to identify and communicate system constraints, data limitations, and operational challenges.
  • Excellent presentation skills, capable of producing client-facing audit and roadmap decks, and translating strategy into clear internal directives.
