The RoleWe’re looking for a Local Marketing–Obsessed YouTube Content Researcher & Scriptwriter to help us scale our channel to the next level. This isn’t a role for someone who just rehashes generic marketing content — we want deep, practical insights tailored to the trades niche.

You’ll be responsible for researching winning content ideas, developing video concepts, and writing compelling scripts for our host to present. Your scripts will be 8–20 minutes for long-form videos, plus concise, engaging scripts for shorts.

What You’ll Do

• Research and develop original, high-value video topics related to local marketing for trades (and eventually other niches).
• Create 3 in-depth long-form scripts per week (8–20 mins) and 1 short-form script per day.
• Ensure all scripts are educational, engaging, and actionable – no generic fluff.
• Study our target audience and create content that speaks directly to their challenges.
• Stay up-to-date with trends in Google Ads, Local Service Ads, SEO, GBP optimisation, AI tools, and other local marketing strategies.
• Structure scripts for clear storytelling, case studies, and easy delivery for our presenter.
• Collaborate with our video producer and editor to ensure smooth content production.
• Research competitor channels like Ranking Academy and Exposure Ninja for inspiration – but always create unique, better content.

What We’re Looking For

• Deep knowledge and passion for local marketing – ideally with hands-on experience in the space.
• Strong research and scriptwriting skills.
• Understanding of YouTube content strategies, SEO, and audience engagement.
• Ability to turn complex topics into clear, engaging narratives.
• Creative thinker with a results-driven mindset.
• Self-motivated and able to deliver consistent output to deadlines.
• Familiarity with the trades industry is a big plus.
