The Opportunity Major League Cricket is seeking a Social Media Coordinator for a fixed-term contract to support the strategy, creation, and execution of MLC’s social media presence during MLC’s fourth season, scheduled to take place from 18 June to 18 July 2026. Reporting to the Social Media Lead, you will play a key role in upholding brand voice, driving fan engagement, and growing the league’s digital footprint across platforms. In this role, you will support the day-to-day management of MLC’s social channels, including Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, TikTok, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and YouTube, producing content that is innovative, on-brand, and built to drive fan connection. You will contribute to creative campaigns, support publishing operations, and identify cultural moments to activate around with the overarching goal of growing MLC’s foothold in American sports culture. You will join a driven marketing team, delivering best-in-class digital storytelling that makes cricket a mainstream conversation in the United States. Key Responsibilities Social Media Strategy & Content Creation
- Support MLC’s social media strategy and day-to-day execution across Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, TikTok, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Ideate, produce, and publish timely, accurate, and on-brand content across MLC’s official channels.
- Contribute to the social media content calendar across all MLC properties, ensuring alignment with key events, campaigns, and editorial priorities.
- Monitor real-time trends, platform changes, and audience behaviors — identifying opportunities to insert MLC into relevant cultural conversations and staying ahead of shifts in the social landscape.
- Execute community management across all platforms — tracking fan sentiment, managing social inboxes, and engaging with MLC’s audiences to build a loyal and active fan base.
- Independently film, edit, and publish social-first video content from match venues and events throughout the season.
- Support the growth of emerging social media platforms as new channels evolve.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with other key members of the Marketing team to align social campaigns with broader brand and commercial objectives.
- Support the Commercial team in fulfilling partnership deliverables and social activations.
- Coordinate with Ticketing to develop social campaigns that drive ticket sales and attendance.
- Collaborate with broadcast partners and franchise teams to amplify major moments and ensure unified messaging across channels.
- Work alongside the Sports Presentation team to enhance the in-venue experience through digital storytelling.
- Support the management of adjacent MLC social media properties, including Minor League Cricket and the USA Men’s and Women’s National Teams, as required.
Influencer & Creator Engagement
- Support the development of MLC’s relationships with influencers, creators, and cricket community voices.
- Help develop and execute influencer strategies that amplify key events and brand milestones throughout the season.
Ideal CandidateExperience
- 2–4 years of experience creating content or managing/supporting social media for a sports property, league, team, or governing body.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven track record of producing high-performing social content and contributing to audience growth.
- Experience independently filming, editing, and publishing social-first content — proficiency with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and Lightroom required. CapCut a plus.
- Demonstrable photography, videography, and graphic design skills.
- Working knowledge of WSC ClipPro a plus.
- Ability and willingness to travel continuously from approximately 15 June to 19 July to venue locations in Dallas, Oakland, and Los Angeles.
- Working knowledge of cricket preferred; genuine enthusiasm and a willingness to learn the nuances of the sport quickly are essential.
