We also are passionate proponents of regenerative agriculture. Regenerative agriculture is the only way we can produce food indefinitely. The vast majority of how we currently produce food is destroying our ecosystems which we depend on for survival. The more we support regenerative agriculture, the more we support a food system that can continue to feed people in the future. There is no other option.

Eating a hyper local and seasonal diet is the best way to approach nutrition, but the reality is most food is purchased in packaged form. We aim to drive a wedge into that industry by sourcing from the best farms, making the best products, and displacing those that cut corners and sell lies.

About the Job

We’re hiring a Senior Manager of Retention to own the full customer lifecycle, from first purchase through long-term loyalty, across email, SMS, subscriptions, direct mail, post-purchase flows, winbacks, and beyond.

Lineage is not even two years old, yet our owned channels are scaling at a rate rarely seen in CPG:

  • $20M+ in revenue driven from email + SMS
  • Nearly $1M in MRR from subscriptions, launched earlier this year

We are only getting started.

Your mandate: Your mandate: grow and deepen the value of our customer base. That means building an email list of 1 million engaged real-food subscribers while driving measurable lifts in retention, repeat purchase rate, subscription stickiness, and LTV. You’ll scale our subscription program into one of the strongest in the category, transform post-purchase into a loyalty engine, and turn first-time buyers into long-term Lineage advocates.

This role is both strategic and operational. You will work closely with our Director of Marketing and Director of Growth to develop the lifecycle roadmap, performance targets, campaign calendar, and experimentation plan for retention.

At the same time, you're not afraid to get hands-on: building tests, constructing segmentation logic, optimizing flows, pulling data, QA’ing campaigns, and jumping in alongside a Designer, and Email Coordinator or Executive Assistant whenever needed.

You should live and breathe Klaviyo, understand retention levers like LTV, churn signals, CAC:LTV, and cohort behavior, and thrive in an environment where we create hypotheses, test them, review learnings, and operationalize quickly.

What You'll OwnEmail, SMS, Direct Mail

  1. Fully own Klaviyo—segmentation, flows, deliverability, testing, performance reporting, optimization.
  2. Build and manage email + SMS campaign and flow calendars across product launches, educational campaigns, promos, and retention themes.
  3. Oversee voice memo SMS campaigns from founders and consistently test new formats that strengthen connection and loyalty.
  4. Partner with an Email Coordinator and Designer to brief, load, QA, and deploy campaigns (but be able to execute independently as well in a pinch).
  5. Coordinate strategy and design for Direct Mail campaigns.
  6. Ensure a high bar for brand alignment, clarity, performance, and customer relevance.

Subscription Strategy & Growth

  1. Own subscription retention and growth: pricing strategy, churn mitigation, personalization, winbacks, plan upgrades, save strategies, and promotion tactics; manage everything in SKIO.
  2. Create and launch a subscription loyalty perks/gifting strategy.
  3. Work closely with the Director of Marketing to refine subscription offerings, test new retention mechanisms, and optimize onboarding.
  4. Use cohort analysis, predictive modeling, and customer behavior data to build long-term LTV across segments.

Customer Lifecycle Architecture

  1. Architect personalized journeys across channels: onboarding, activation, loyalty, replenishment, reactivation, and advocacy.
  2. Build behavioral segmentation strategies that place customers into the optimal paths at the right time.
  3. Own experimentation frameworks—test messages, offers, timings, and flows across lifecycle stages and for our various personas.

Analysis, Insights & Reporting

  1. Track LTV, retention rate, churn drivers, cohort performance, deliverability, repeat rate, subscription health, and lifecycle lift.
  2. Translate insights into action for Marketing, Growth, CX, and Product.
  3. Identify risks, trends, and opportunities—then proactively recommend solutions.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  1. Partner closely with Marketing + Growth leadership to align lifecycle strategy to acquisition and revenue targets.
  2. Work with CX, Web, and Product teams to inform messaging, merchandising, and UX improvements.
  3. Manage retention initiatives from hypothesis → scoping → testing → rollout, ensuring clarity and smooth collaboration across teams.

✅ Must-have Requirements Before Applying

  • 4-6+ years in retention, lifecycle marketing, CRM, or subscription growth for e-commerce or consumer brands.
  • Deep Klaviyo expertise, segmentation, deliverability, dynamic flows, analytics.
  • Ability to “get a little dangerous” in Shopify — not a developer, but comfortable navigating themes, apps, templates, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with a retention tech-stack: SMS (we use Postscript), subscription platforms (we use SKIO), and Direct Mail (we use PostPilot)
  • Strong command of retention metrics: LTV, CAC:LTV, churn, cohorts, repeat rate, subscription KPIs.
  • Analytical — proficiency in Excel/Sheets and comfort working with dashboards or BI tools like Triple Whale.
  • Proven experience scaling retention programs in a high-growth DTC environment. Bonus if it’s a CPG, wellness or food brand.
  • Experience managing or mentoring another marketer (e.g., coordinator or specialist).
  • Comfort using AI to speed up workflow and experimentation.
  • Exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and operationally strong.
  • Write "24" in the application under the question "What is your favorite number?
