We are an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer. We value diversity because it strengthens our work and reflects the communities we serve. We strongly encourage individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in tech and higher ed to apply.

Your Role: Director of Demand Generation

We are looking for a highly driven, innovative, and data-oriented Director of Demand Generation to build and lead the engine responsible for substantially increasing awareness, engagement, and top-of-funnel growth for our higher-education SaaS business.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a marketer who knows how to turn a strong product and compelling market opportunity into a predictable flow of qualified prospects. You will own the strategy and execution across digital demand generation, paid acquisition, organic growth, content-driven campaigns, email, marketing automation, webinars, events, partnerships, and other programs designed to create and accelerate pipeline.

Our ideal candidate understands both modern B2B SaaS demand generation and the unique buying environment of higher education. You will develop campaigns that resonate with university leaders, administrators, and other key decision-makers while building scalable programs that expand our reach across the higher education market.

The primary mandate is simple: significantly increase the number of qualified prospects entering our funnel and create a scalable, measurable demand-generation engine that contributes directly to revenue growth.

Day to day, you’ll report to our Chief Revenue Officer, Aaron Knox, and with the rest of the Sales & Marketing organization.

What You’ll Do

Demand Generation Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-channel demand generation strategy designed to substantially increase top-of-funnel volume.
  • Establish clear targets for website traffic, inquiries, leads, marketing-qualified leads, sales-qualified leads, pipeline, and ultimately revenue contribution.
  • Build campaigns around key higher education audiences, personas, use cases, pain points, and buying triggers.
  • Develop an effective mix of inbound, outbound, paid, organic, partner, event, and account-based programs.
  • Continuously test new channels, campaigns, messaging, and acquisition strategies to identify scalable growth opportunities.
  • Create a demand-generation roadmap that balances near-term pipeline creation with longer-term brand and market development.

Digital Acquisition & Growth

  • Own paid acquisition strategy across search, social, display, retargeting, and other relevant channels.
  • Develop strategies to substantially increase qualified organic traffic through SEO, content, thought leadership, and search-focused initiatives.
  • Optimize landing pages, conversion paths, forms, calls to action, and other elements of the digital funnel.
  • Develop and manage ABM campaigns targeting specific higher education segments and high-value accounts.
  • Establish a rigorous test-and-learn culture around acquisition and conversion.

Content & Campaigns

  • Develop integrated campaigns around industry trends, customer challenges, product capabilities, research, and higher education priorities.
  • Use content as a demand-generation asset—not simply as a publishing function.
  • Develop webinars, guides, case studies, press releases, and other high-value content to drive engagement and generate leads.

Marketing Automation & Lead Nurturing

  • Own and optimize the marketing automation and lead-management infrastructure.
  • Build sophisticated lead-nurturing programs that move prospects from initial awareness through consideration and sales engagement.
  • Establish lead scoring, segmentation, routing, and lifecycle definitions in partnership with Sales.
  • Improve conversion rates at each stage of the marketing funnel.
  • Ensure prospects receive relevant, timely, and personalized communications based on their interests and behavior.

Events & Industry Marketing

  • Maximize the demand-generation impact of higher education conferences and events.
  • Develop pre-event, at-event, and post-event campaigns designed to generate measurable pipeline—not simply booth traffic.
  • Identify opportunities to extend the reach of conferences through digital campaigns, content, webinars, and social amplification.
  • Develop strategies to turn event participation into an ongoing source of qualified prospects.

Analytics & Optimization

  • Establish a comprehensive demand-generation dashboard and reporting framework.
  • Measure performance across acquisition channels, campaigns, audiences, funnel stages, and pipeline.
  • Analyze CAC, conversion rates, pipeline contribution, and ROI to determine where to increase or reduce investment.
  • Use data to identify bottlenecks and opportunities throughout the funnel.
  • Regularly communicate performance, insights, and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Build a culture of experimentation, testing, learning, and continuous optimization.

What Success looks like

  • Substantially increased qualified top-of-funnel volume.
  • Built a predictable, measurable demand-generation engine.
  • Increased qualified website traffic and inbound inquiries.
  • Significantly improved conversion rates across key stages of the marketing funnel.
  • Established scalable paid and organic acquisition programs.
  • Built effective nurture and re-engagement programs.
  • Created repeatable campaign frameworks that can be deployed across higher education segments.
  • Improved the quality and quantity of leads delivered to Sales.
  • Established clear attribution between marketing programs, pipeline, and revenue.
  • Identified new channels and opportunities for significant market expansion.
  • Created a data-driven operating cadence for continuously improving demand generation.

Who You Are

  • 6+ years of B2B marketing experience, with significant experience in demand generation and digital acquisition.
  • Demonstrated success in substantially increasing top-of-funnel volume and qualified pipeline.
  • Experience building and scaling multi-channel demand-generation programs.
  • Strong understanding of B2B SaaS marketing and complex, multi-stakeholder buying journeys.
  • Experience with paid digital advertising, SEO, email marketing, marketing automation, webinars, content campaigns, and conversion optimization.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to connect marketing activity to pipeline and revenue.
  • Experience working closely with Revenue leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate strategically while also being willing to roll up your sleeves and execute.
  • Experience marketing technology, SaaS, or services to colleges and universities is strongly preferred.
  • You should be comfortable navigating the higher education ecosystem and understanding the different priorities, stakeholders, and buying processes that influence technology purchases.

What We Offer

  • Mission-driven culture and meaningful work impacting millions of students

  • Competitive salary
  • Full benefits starting the month after your start date

  • Paid family leave
