As we continue expanding our product portfolio, we're looking for a Product Innovation Manager to help shape what Hungry Minds builds next.

This role is responsible for discovering new product opportunities, understanding customer needs, validating ideas, and building a pipeline of future products. From identifying trends and analyzing markets to testing concepts and supporting product development, you'll play a critical role in bringing new products to life.

What You'll DoDiscover New Product Opportunities

  • Identify new physical product opportunities that align with the Hungry Minds brand and audience.
  • Research emerging trends, consumer behavior, and market developments.
  • Monitor competitors, adjacent industries, and innovative product categories.
  • Evaluate market opportunities and recommend areas for expansion.

Conduct Customer & Market Research

  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers, their motivations, challenges, and purchasing behavior.
  • Conduct customer interviews, surveys, and feedback analysis.
  • Analyze reviews, online communities, social conversations, and industry data.
  • Translate research findings into actionable product insights.

Validate Product Concepts

  • Generate and refine product ideas based on research and customer insights.
  • Create concept briefs, opportunity assessments, and product recommendations.
  • Design and execute validation processes before significant investment is made.
  • Gather customer feedback on concepts and prototypes.
  • Make data-driven recommendations on which ideas should move forward.

Support Product Development

  • Work closely with Product, Design, and Operations teams throughout the development process.
  • Coordinate prototype creation and product testing.
  • Help refine products based on research findings and customer feedback.
  • Ensure product decisions remain aligned with customer needs and business objectives.

Build the Innovation Pipeline

  • Maintain a structured pipeline of future product opportunities.
  • Establish frameworks for evaluating and prioritizing ideas.
  • Continuously source, assess, and develop new concepts.
  • Present research findings and recommendations to leadership.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in product innovation, market research, product development, consumer insights, product strategy, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience conducting market, customer, and competitor research.
  • Ability to turn insights into practical product recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing physical consumer products.
  • Background in consumer goods, publishing, education, e-commerce, lifestyle, or premium products.
  • Experience working with product designers, manufacturers, or sourcing teams.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered research and market intelligence tools.
  • Experience taking products from concept through launch.
