Social Media Marketing Coordinator
Job Description
Posted on: August 27, 2025
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Type: Contract to Perm
Salary Range: Depends on Experience
Reports To: Director of Marketing
Since 1979, FANGORIA has lived in print and on-screen as one of the most influential horror brands in the industry, and has now been ushered into a digitally dominated world to thrive as an iconic genre media destination, honoring a 40+ year legacy through exciting, inclusive, and generation-spanning content, across multimedia platforms such as print, digital, studio (film and television), podcasts, merchandise and more. From design to content, to advertising, FANGORIA is a curated, celebratory experience of the horror genre.
The Social Media Marketing Coordinator is responsible for bringing FANGORIA’s content strategy to life through daily publishing, real-time coverage, and trend-responsive storytelling. Working closely with the Community Manager and Director of Marketing, this role ensures our content is timely, on-brand, and feeding the hunger of horror fans everywhere (brains... we want brainsss).
This is a hands-on executional role for a platform-native content publisher. You’ll be in the trenches of daily posting, capturing content on the fly, and adapting assets to meet the ever-changing demands of each platform. You'll be included in brainstorms and strategy discussions, but your primary focus is executing flawlessly and consistently across all social touchpoints.
ResponsibilitiesContent Scheduling & Publishing: Build and manage a forward-looking content calendar aligned to FANGORIA’s campaigns, magazine drops, events, and partnerships. From this, you will own daily publishing and platform management across all channels, adjusting timing, formats, and frequency based on platform trends and content performance.
Content Creation & Real-Time Posting: Content creation is key, but we want to be smart with time and resources, so adapting web and magazine content for social formats will be key, requiring this role to craft platform-specific captions, apply SEO best practices for discoverability, and choose visuals that drive reach and engagement. The coordinator will work with design, editorial, and other team members to gather and prep assets for upcoming posts, as well as create their own content, editing vertical video using CapCut and in-app tools, for Reels, TikToks, and Stories as we look to amp up video content and engagement.
UGC & Discoverability: Recommend creative ways to increase discoverability, reach, and loyalty across platforms, and contribute to the development of user-generated content campaigns and influencer collaborations, working alongside the Community Manager and Director of Marketing.
Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor comments/engagement in real time, and keep a pulse on algorithm shifts, trending audio, and content formats to help the brand remain agile and innovative. The Community Manager will take lead on tracking performance, but the Coordinator should take an interest in these metrics, and assist in building monthly social reports, flagging high- and under-performing content to guide future planning.
Asset Management: Maintain an organized system for social assets and evergreen content to support fast-turn publishing and campaign reuse.
Marketing Mindset: You don’t just post, you understand why you’re posting. You bring a collaborative spirit, a test-and-learn mentality, and an interest in how content strategy can drive business results.. Whether you’re publishing a TikTok, editing a Reel, or live-posting from an event, you’re thinking in terms of fan experience, timing, and impact.
Requirements
- 2–3 years experience managing brand social channels or digital content production.
- Strong working knowledge of TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and emerging content formats.
- Proficient in social publishing and planning tools.
- Skilled in light video editing with CapCut, Canva, or in-app platforms.
- Confident copywriter with the ability to capture FANGORIA’s tone.
- Comfortable working occasional evenings or weekends during events or when news spikes.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven with strong time management skills.
- US-based applicants only.
- Limited travel may be required for special events.
