About the role

Ecommerce Manager

$130,000 - $150,000 + Super + Bonus

Remote | Australian D2C accessories brand

An Australian D2C accessories brand is growing internationally and creating a dedicated Ecommerce Manager role to take ownership of its website, lift trading performance and build stronger relationships with its customers.

The business has already built an established customer base across Australia, New Zealand and North America. Now it’s investing in the capability to support its next stage of growth, with the online experience central to that.

A brand with personality

Bold product, confident branding, a strong social presence and collaborations are all part of the picture. Creative, community and commercial performance sit closely together here. Product launches and partnerships are important moments, and the website needs to bring them to life with the same attention that goes into the product and creative.

It’s a founder-led, investment-backed business with ambitious international plans and a lean team. The founders remain hands-on, feedback is direct and people are trusted to take responsibility. Good ideas come with an expectation that someone will turn them into something customers can actually experience.

You’ll report directly to a founder and work closely with performance marketing, partnerships, customer experience and operations. That puts you close to the decisions, the customer feedback and the commercial results.

The opportunity

You’ll own how the brand shows up and performs online, from the way customers discover products to the checkout experience and what brings them back for another purchase.

There’s an established audience to work with, international growth to support and plenty of scope to improve the experience. Alongside day-to-day trading, you’ll build out loyalty and lifecycle activity and explore practical uses for AI and automation.

For someone who enjoys combining commercial thinking with hands-on delivery, there’s a broad remit here and a direct connection between your decisions and the results.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own the Shopify Plus website and digital customer experience, keeping content, merchandising and launch activity accurate, engaging and ready to trade.
  • Improve product discovery, collections, cart and checkout journeys, using testing and customer insight to increase conversion and revenue per visit.
  • Bring product launches, partnerships, campaigns and sales events to life online, working closely with the people responsible for traffic, creative, customer experience and fulfilment.
  • Build and run the loyalty programme, manage the email agency and develop email, SMS and re-engagement activity that encourages repeat purchase.
  • Establish a useful reporting rhythm, turning website and customer data into decisions about what to improve next.
  • Identify and implement AI and automation opportunities that improve the shopping experience and help the team work more effectively.

You’ll start without direct reports. Expect to spend time in Shopify, work through the detail yourself and keep delivery moving as priorities change. Precision matters, particularly around launches and sales events when plenty is happening at once.

What you’ll bring

  • Deep, hands-on Shopify Plus experience within a D2C or consumer ecommerce business.
  • A track record of improving conversion and trading performance through merchandising, customer journeys and checkout improvements.
  • Experience building and running loyalty, email, SMS and retention activity, including managing external agencies.
  • Confidence interpreting data, choosing what to prioritise and explaining the commercial thinking behind your decisions.
  • Experience in a founder-led or private equity-backed business, with the independence to take ownership and follow through.
  • A strong eye for site content and the details that shape how customers experience a brand.

Experience with a D2C brand selling into North America would be valuable. A practical interest in AI, automation and emerging commerce would also be welcome.

Please note you must reside in Australia or New Zealand and hold full unrestricted Australian working rights
