About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Publishing Manager to lead the planning, execution, and optimization of publishing strategies for our AAA game titles. This role sits at the intersection of development, marketing, and operations, ensuring that our games not only ship at the highest level of quality but also reach and engage global audiences.
The Publishing Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of AAA releases — from pre-launch positioning and campaign strategy to post-launch live operations and community engagement. You’ll collaborate closely with internal dev teams, external partners, platform holders, and marketing to maximize commercial success while maintaining the creative vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Release Management: Own publishing schedules, ensuring milestone delivery, compliance with platform requirements (Sony, Microsoft, PC storefronts), and smooth global launches.
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute launch strategies including pricing, distribution, packaging, and promotional campaigns.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the central liaison between development, marketing, PR, community, and external publishing partners.
- Live Operations Support: Coordinate updates, patches, and post-launch content, ensuring strong retention and ongoing player engagement.
- Partnership Management: Maintain relationships with platform partners (e.g., PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Epic) to secure visibility, promotions, and distribution opportunities.
- Market Insights: Monitor industry trends, competitor launches, and player feedback to refine publishing strategies.
- Performance Tracking: Define and analyze KPIs such as sales, player engagement, DAUs/MAUs, and ROI on campaigns.
- Budget Oversight: Manage publishing budgets, forecasts, and reporting for executive stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in publishing, product management, or operations within the AAA games industry.
- Proven track record managing successful global launches across multiple platforms.
- Strong knowledge of first-party submission processes (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Steam, Epic).
- Deep understanding of marketing disciplines (digital, influencer, social, PR) as they relate to games.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle complex, global release schedules.
- Strong analytical skills with experience tracking KPIs and interpreting data for actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for games, with awareness of industry trends, genres, and player communities.
Nice to Have
- Experience with live-service / GaaS (Games as a Service) publishing.
- Familiarity with esports, streaming platforms, and influencer ecosystems.
- Multilingual or international publishing experience.
